Poured one and a half bottles into a 1/2 liter stein wich brought good clarity to a copper/bronze body and a nicely defined one finger creamy-like head atop.Very clean nose with only mild toastiness and caramel sweetness.A full almost creamy feel to the beer is by far the best part of it.Flavors have subdued caramel and doughy sweetness up front more mild sweetness coming from the alcohol and a honey tinge, hops are subdued just giving a faint flash of leafiness,I even detect a sour note, although very light in the finish.Iam not sure about a double steam style but I Iam a big fan of ST going back to my western NY days.

Appearance: pours a light orange color with some yellow highlights. A one inch head slowly falls.

Smell: a mild bready and fruity aroma is pleasant on the nose.

Taste: follows the nose as caramel, bread, golden apples, some soft citrus tones, and a mild bitterness create a well balanced beer.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied. Light crispness throughout. Short lasting aftertaste. Refreshing.

Overall: an easy to quaff beer. I think this represents the style well despite the higher alcohol content.

Bottle into Mug

Appearance- Deep gold, very clear, white head with good retention, a lot of bubbles coming up

Aroma- Mild for the abv, a pleasant lemon, bready malts, herbal hops, earthy, not getting any alcohol here.

Taste- Much more complex than the smell would suggest. Bready sweet malts, the sweetness runs throughout but there a good bitterness there balancing it out, herbal hops, wood, light lemon, warming alcohol shows up here witch is a bit of a drawback, but it is a 2x.

Mouthfeel- medium full, heavy carbonation, warming alcohol

Overall- I like it considering the fact it is a bigger version of the style. It does have that woodsy feel to it, but the alcohol is not well hidden in the taste which makes it less drinkable. All in all its pretty good, wouldn't seek out but worth a try.

Served in pint.

Appearance: Has a dark colored gold body, beyond heavy bubbles floating throughout rising very fast....creates a nice even thick white head which rose to about 2/3".

Smell: Light hops....not much else to go with.

Taste: Heavy hops, but exactly very bitter though it reminds me a but of a German pilsener meets American IPA. Light malts and for as simple as it is tastes very complex. Light sourness to it, feels a bit of sour bread.

Mouth: Heavy carbonation, but exceptionally smooth.

Overall: Not a bad brew, definitely something different for me but not anything new. Has a little bit of everything, Grab a glass and enjoy...Salud!

This is a Lager that is fermented at Ale temperature with addition fo California hops that grows at warmer temperature.
Amber whiskey color with a good head with good retention.
Nice hoppy floral aroma.
Very particular taste, sweet malt with notes of guaraná, condiments, pine, bourbon and flowers. Super dry aftertaste.
Full body with medium carbonation, 8% ABV is well hidden and it gives a warming feeling when the beer warms up.
Interesting beer, drinkability is not that high though.

16 ounce pint - $6.50 at Taco Mac in Woodstock, Georgia.

Appearance: Dark orange-gold body, fairly clear, with some steady streams of carbonation. Inch-high white head, decent lacing produced.

Smell: Muted aroma. I thought I'd give it some time to warm up, maybe that's the problem. I was watching the opening ceremonies for a soccer match. Question to soccer fans: do they always cart out kids and light up smiles faker than the flopping prior to every game? Nearly a solid thirty later, it's still pretty dull. A little yeastiness, whisper of honey/toffee, and a sniff of booze.

Taste: Lightly toasty breadiness, an initial kick of sweetish toffee. Fruity touches of apricot, apple throughout. Earthy, woodsy, lightly citrusy hops open up with a medium-plus bitterness to temper the sweetness. Drying, bittersweet, lightly fruity finish.

Mouthfeel: A bit of over medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel overall.

Overall: Letting it ride as a somewhat bigger, somewhat bolder beer it was fine.

Amber brew. A bit coppery. Not much head to dredge up. Understandable at 8%.

Unexpectedly sweet malty aroma. Notes of treacle, golden raisin, toast, and some lingering booze. Hop profile comes off with Euro flair. I am confused.

Nope, this is a miss. Lots of alcohol, might be the primary flavor component followed by sugary malts, white grape, astringent floral hops, and toast. Not worth laboring through. Underneath the booze, it tastes decent, if not a little too sweet and too malty. This was brewed for the sake of brewing it. They shouldn't have bottled and sold this.

Body - medium-plus; carbonation - light... but, all I'm thinking about is how atrociously boozy this is. No, it doesn't feel good.

A rough one. I'm finishing it because it's engrained in me that I have to. Drink something else, or like me, learn the hard way.
