A: pours almost totally black, a bit of amber on the edges. Big solid tan head that is super thick and frothy.
S: smells of cinnamon and milk chocolate. a hint of nutmeg. Like a tasty pumpkin muffin. Actually made me say "whoa" out loud.
T: chocolate flavor with cinnamon and nutmeg in the middle. The spices are heavy but blended well. A sharp roasted malt flavor towards the end. Just like the aroma, this beer taste like a chocolate pumpkin muffin. Delicious.
M: medium bodied, slick, easy to drink.
A very tasty brew. The spices are perfect and go much better with the stout than that amber stuff everyone else does. I prefer this over pumking by far.

I hate to leave a review so short and negative, but this particular beer tastes, to me, what guinea pigs smell like. Pumpkin beers are a hard sell for me, but the flavor in this reminds me more of the rat I saw behind the store I work at tonight than of anything pumpkin. Maybe I'm missing something in this one. But, you'd be hard pressed to get me to drink it again unfortunately. Sorry southern tier, I love stouts, the bigger the flavors the better, but this one, just does not at all do it for me. Hard poured into the sink.

Pours into a goblet a deep cola color with a half finger light beige head that left a broken ring of lace as it settled quickly.Wow the most aromatic pumpkin infused beer I have come across, roasted pumpkin, cardamom, and raw leafy hops stand out most, add vanilla and graham crackers and you have a big complex nose.Flavor of roasted pumpkin and vanilla/spices with some roast, like a pumpkin latte, the raw hops are still playing a big role. What a cool beer,it's a brash pumpkin stout with a real hop profile with alot of malty richness.Top notch.

In a goblet, this beer was a very dark brown, near black color. There was a minuscule to non-existant tan head.
Sweet chocolate aroma. Some pumpkin. Very subtle spice.
Taste followed form. Milk chocolate and pumpkin. A little allspice.
This was a smooth, not overly spiced beer. I thought the combination of stout and pumpkin went very well, with enough spice, but not too much spice.

This was a really interesting beer. An imperial stout brewed with pumpkin puree!!! They recommend you serve it in a goblet, and I was happy to oblige. The beer starts out tasting like a very nice imperial stout and then breaks off into a nice natural pumpkin flavor with a nice kick at the end!
Was happy I found this at my local store, worth the 10$- Looking forward to buying it next year or finding it on tap again!

Appearance: high carbonation, 3/4 inch head, clear, dark brown in color
Smell: pumpkin spice and graham cracker
Taste: dark chocolate, charred/roasted malt, cream, sugar, and pumpkin spice
Mouthfeel: Sweet with bitter char in the background, medium-heavy body, medium-high carbonation
Overall: Really tasty compliment beer to Pumpking. I do think I like Pumpking better, but this one is a nice combo of char and great pumpkin flavor. Southern Tier does pumpkin well.
