I've been going to the Southern Tier Brewery for the last 6 years or so when I've been back home, but I was at the new location (across the parking lot) last night with some old friends to grab a couple of pints and growlers.

Atmosphere: The bar area is a very rustic wooden lodge feel and the night we were there it was packed, but it wasn't an annoying crowd.

Quality: I've been a Southern Tier homer for as long as they've been around and I think that anytime I can get their beers as fresh as possible I'm a happy camper.

Service: Bar was constantly swamped with people but the three bartenders made sure I always had a drink and filled a growler pretty quickly.

Selection: 14 taps that were all Southern Tier beers when we were there (no guests on tap). Nice mix of the regular line, imperial series and Chokolat from the Black Water Series.

Value: This is the best part, growlers start at $7 to fill and max out I think around $12 for the stouts. I picked up a growler of the porter for me and my stepmom and she is already telling me to go back for more.

I was up here on a crazy saturday at the beginning of september. No parking or room available. Ahh...the beginning of Pumpking and Warlock season.

Southern Tier has become one of the largest breweries in the country-rather quickly. They have a nice brewpub area near the back with indoor and outdoor seating.

All their merchandise is to the right as soon as you enter and the bar is to the left. You basically grab a menu in the front and place your food order with the host/hostess-the hostess gives you a number to place on your table, then grab your own drink at the standing only bar and find your own seat. As busy as it was-this system seemed to work really well for ST-as your food is out rather quickly and you just get whatever else you need. I really think that a lot of other busy brew pubs should follow this model.

They have all of the prices and sizes clearly posted with several different options for serving sizes of each beer. They have 13 beers on tap-always rotatning with seasonals and within their several different series. They always seem to have their current imperial seasonal and blackwater seasonal on-tap.

The main dining room/bar area has a lofty new wooden cabin/house feel.

The food options are limited and include many sandwich options along with some taco an quesidillas. I had a pulled pork sandwich...it was pretty good-but not earth-shattering.

I did get a tour as my birthday present and I was very impressed with their expansion and brewing equipment. Of course, pumpking is thier most popular and most brewed beer.

Visited friends, who live on Lake Chautauqua. Beautiful weather on a day spent on their boat on the lake. Went to the brewery, atmosphere was enriched by a decent band out of Edinboro , Pa.
Nice day in SW NY state.
