We visited The Cork and Craft/Abnormal Beer Company on Saturday around 7 pm for the first time and sat at two empty bar stools right away. They own three spots in an industrial park where the walls were knocked down and the place was done up. It has an open kitchen, modern décor, brick, and glass area showing off the brewing equipment. The vibe was more upscale but not pretentious or overly hip. Everything was immaculate and the service was outstanding. The brewer, Derek, is a great guy and made sure we were having a good time. I ordered a flight with five different IPAs with the 5pm Session IPA and the Debut IPA being the standouts. I tried all of their beers that they had on tap at the time which included four others to the flight: Belgian honey pale, porter, raspberry dubbel, and an apricot saison. All of their beers were good, very impressive for a brewing operation that has only been going since April. The other taps were very impressive too with a rare black currant sour Green Flash cask, a couple one-off Mostra Coffee beers with Alesmith and Green Flash. They even had a B. Nektar mead on draft. The only food we had were the truffle parmesan fries and they were great. I look forward to going to one of their beer dinners in the future. This is a wonderful addition to a great beer scene in tiny Rancho Bernardo along with Urge and Brothers Provisions. I cannot wait to go back here. It is too bad I cannot make it to their Karl Strauss dinner on Monday. Keep up the good work Abnormal!!!

Freestanding commercial building on the edge of an industrial park on the north side of town. Bar toward the center of the building in front of the brewhouse seats about 10. 16 beers on tap. Professional bartender. Wings were solid.

Been here several times. Regarding the beer, I have been to about 70 San Diego area breweries. Abnormal is in the top 10% easily. All of their beers are outstanding in their individual styles. The tap list rotates regularly, but the main stays are excellent. Their hazy ipa is excellent and for non-ipa drinkers the blonde is a great choice. Imperial stouts are super interesting and their sours are very approachable. I have problems getting past their Hazy Dreams! The hamburger is delicious, so i have not tried their restaurant food, which looks really good. They serve flights and half pints, in addition to full pints. Simply, their beer is good enough that I have recommended that my friends order it anywhere it can be found.

Was on Beer Safari with my San Diego based son, and I wanted to check out Cork and Craft. Was impressed with Floydster's review (below) and a bit wowed by their webpage and tap listings.
Agree completely with this earlier review. Classy, tasteful and more restaurant like than beer bar/brew pub. But its the people, the food and the beer that are the stars. Top notch on all counts.

Had thought we'd have a quick stop after checking out Cellar 3 and Distiller's Outlet in Poway, but ended up staying almost a couple of hours. Sat at bar and spent time discussing beers with Greg. They serve serious tasters that really let you explore the look, scent and taste of the beers.

Draft menu was startling how varied and top shelf it was. Some many special beers and one offs. From Bruery Unreleased Citrus Gose on cask (made for Cork an Craft)to Stone's Sour Brown with Montmorency cherries...excellent! Throw in a parade of All stars...GF's Unblended Coffee Silva Stout, Du Ciel's Peche Mortel, Lost Abbey's Framboise de Amarosa Tracks 8 and 10...to MT's Fruitlands, B. Nektar Black Fang...and more and more... light and dark, tart and fruity, thick and thin. Something really extraordinary for just about anyone's tastes. Then throw in their own beers (Abnormal Beer Co.) and you can just sit back and smile. Tried their GF collab Dubbel avec Framboise and their Imp Oatmeal Porter...two very different styles...both immensely drinkable and enjoyable. Very well made, and spot on delicious. Oh, and bottle list is also exemplary, nicely curated and not even close to being over priced.
Tried their Bar food menu for appetizers and tried the Garlic Noodles with oyster mushrooms, scallions and parm cheese and also the Fried Brussel Sprouts with pancetta and shallots. Both amazing and went great with the beers. Lunch and Dinner menus were even better looking but we ran out of time.
Glad we got there early as the bar and table seating were filling up fast at 5:00.
Can't recommend this place enough.
