3 cans from an old friend in Texas.
Clear amber color, very thin head.
Nice oak smoke aroma with hints of caramel.
Smoke taste is nicely balanced, not as strong as the nose suggests.
Medium body with good carbonation.
Nice one!

Pour is an amber / burnt orange. Crystal clear with a nice chap of off white head. good retention.
Nose is toffee / caramel malts nicely mixed with a subtle, but definitely present smoked malt character
Taste is smokey malt upfront followed by caramel / toffee malt character, doughy, and a hint of nut. great beer.
Excellent. The smoke is blended nicely with the underlying style. You can detect each and nothing dominates.

Pours a warm tan gold with nice foaming. The aroma is all campfire and single malt, light and smokey. The sip follows, with a touch of caramel behind the smoke. I liked this tremendously.

Perfect balance of an authentic Octoberfest & light meaty smoke beer. Excellent mouthfeel. Infinitely drinkable.

Smoked malt is subtly incorporated and lends no harshness. Munich malt imparts an ideal level of sweetness. Brilliantly balanced.
One of the most drinkable smoked lagers out there. I don't pick up any Hallertau hops, but the one-two punch of Munich malt and smoked malt is effective and elevates this above most Marzenbiere.

Look:
Pale copper/amber color with bright white head and nearly brilliant clarity. Poor head retention with a very small bubble texture.
Aroma:
A nice melding of Munich malt breadlines and slight caramel with beechwood smoke. Low level of noble hop aroma. Clean yeast character.
Taste:
Beechwood up front with some subtle bread crust notes following behind. Low level of noble hop flavors and bitterness hit you last but provide a nice balance to the beer.
Feel:
Medium bodied with some residual sweetness but not sweet by any means. Medium-low level of carbonation.
Overall:
It’s a smoked festbier. Well made but nothing mind-blowing
