Back in college, this was my go-to bar with friends when we were in the 2nd and Lower Broad area (where all the tourists go). Great place to go for some good beer and actually be able to talk with people or play some pool. Watched a few Preds games and enjoy far too many happy hours here. They have great specials that change every so often (we went to a number of "Pint Nights" over the summer where you could get a rare beer and a logo'd pint glass for $4).
Food is bar food. But for bar food, it's fantastic. Admittedly I was always a few beers in whenever I ate, but I was never disappointed. Don't go here for the food, but if you stay long enough it's pretty good, especially compared to the surrounding alternatives that range from $$$$ fancy to $$$ shit (okay, SATCO a few blocks away is solid).
Beer selection changes frequently but always pretty good. Lots of bottles and 20ish taps. You can find a lot of local beer as well as some more foreign (state and country) stuff. Cheap prices on pitchers. Have fond memories of sharing some pitchers of Sam Adam's Imperial Russian Stout here for around $10 a pitcher.
Staff is great. Never had a bad experience. When it's slow they love to talk beer and I've been allowed to sample stuff as well as getting a freebie here and there.
This is a somewhat divey bar with smoking, pool, and southern accents. If you want classy, go to Flying Saucer and pay a little more. But even as a person who hates smoking, sucks at pool, and thanks God every day I managed to grow up in the South without an accent, I do love this bar and look forward to going back me next time I'm in Music City.

While being in town for the East Nashville Beer Festival, I checked out this place last weekend, the night of the festival. Sounding like a good place to get a few craft beers, attended.
Before walking in, just note, this place takes a while to walk to from the bridges or Broadway! Walking down the steps we were met by numerous pool tables and then a cloud of smoke?!?! Oh no! This can't be... Had to stay for a beer at least. This quality is VERY important in a beer bar/restaurant in order for myself to enjoy a good beer. The aroma gets destroyed.
Service was good. Came straight to the bar, was hooked up with a beer menu, ordered and closed my tab. Nothing tough about this transaction.
Their list was great! Offering over 100 beers easily, I went with a Chimay since I've never had this on-tap!?!? How wild.
A nice place to hang out with friends and enjoy beer but I warned you... Smoking is allowed here! Probably won't be coming back because of this reason.
