On tap at the Public House in La Jolla. They describe this as a "sour wheatwine and honey wheat aged on cherries." That's a dizzying brew, but I guess Wild Ale is as good a category as any.
Beautiful orange-red color with a fine-grained foam in the Duchesse chalice. This is just a sensational fruity, malty, and tangy brew. The cherry flavor is fresh and fruity with that excellent umame "meaty" flavor-- Brettanomyces? Whatever ate the sugar leaves a yeastiness nicely restrained with just a dry smooth aftertaste.
Pleasant aroma of cedar and cherries. Rich malty taste with some woody barrel notes. This is like a Rodenbach with a fresher fruit flavor. Hints of bitterness but I never thought about hops while drinking this.
