Notes & Commercial Description:

7×70 IPA clocks in at 7% ABV and 70 IBUs (hence the name) and starts with a citric burst from the Amarillo, El Dorado, and Citra hops in the boil. A lean malt bill that lets the hops really shine through with only 2-row and a touch of lightly toasted pale malt. The dry hop features a second boost of tropical citrus from Calypso hops, as well as a slap of pine from the Simcoes.

On tap at the Library Alehouse.

A: Pours a clear glassy pale yellow with a quarter-inch thick white head and yields spotty lace.

N: Floral and fruity with some light citrus notes.

T: Orange and tangerine with some mild sweetish malts for balance.

M: Semi-moderate body and carbonation. Somewhat thin with a citrusy finish.

O: Expecting more, getting less. There are better out there.

On tap at he taproom. Poured bright, clear gold. Smell is full of citrus and a touch of roasted garlic or something similar. Not all fruit, but lots of citrus. Taste is the same; citrus dominates with a little roasted malt coming through. Most of the malt I pick up is in the body - solid structure and not overpowered by all the hops in there. Reminds me of Lagunitas in the crazy hop with dry finish, but not quite as dry and a little easier drinking.

Solid addition to the lineup and definitely something I would order again. And on my first visit to the taproom, I have to comment that it's awesome. The exact indoor/outdoor, casual beer drinking environment I got spoiled on in Colorado and North Carolina.

From the tap.
This pours a caramel tan in color.
There's a subdued, somewhat melony hop profile.
It's smooth and mellow and rounded with a balance hop profile and a piney character.
Not assertive and bracing but more of a laid back, friendly sort of beer.

Not bad. Tastes like a session, but don't be fooled.

Opaque greenish yellow served on draft at steep brew in sf.

Mild nose.

I like it, but not as much as other ipas I've tried lately, like Alpine H Birthday.
