Thanks to HaveUSeenMyCellar for this one.
A gentle pour yields a decent almost 1 finger creamy bubbly head that fades at a med pace, lighter but decent lacing, crystal clear amber honey orange slightly reddish colored beer.
Nose is a hop explosion, a nice blend of hops too, juicy fruity hops, some citrus, tangerine like, hint of grapefruit and some tropical fruit, then some light resinous musty fresh hop oils, light spicy hops too, underneath brings a light malty sweetness, light amber toasty malts, and hint of booze.
Taste starts with a nice hop flavor, tropical fruits and light citrus, a little pear, papaya, light mango, juicy tangerine, grapefruit, even a hint of guava. hops then turn to a light musty resin but not as much as I expected, as well as a chewy slightly spicy earthy bitterness, but not as bitter as I expected... at first. Malts bring a nice sweetness and balance to the overall beer, with some light amber toasty malt and slightly caramel sugar sweetness. Booze kicks in slightly in the middle, with clean booze and just a touch of warmth, but then finishes a little hotter. Finish is drier but sticky syrupy sweet residue, bitterness ramps but I expected it to be a lot more bitter, light lingering tropical fruits and tangerine, juicy still, and the malts come out a bit more with caramel amber toasty malt really lingering.
Mouth is med to fuller bodied, decent carb, a little warming booze, little sticky syrupy.
overall a pretty nice beer. I was expecting a typical west coast IPA that just overbearing with big hops and bitterness, but this not only brought nice tropical fruit and juicy tasty hops, but a nice malty sweet balance and manageable bitterness despite claiming 100+ IBUs. A tasty well balanced beer with just a hint of warming booze.

Thanks to black13 for this bottle,
22oz. bomber bottled on 11 Feb 2014 poured into a HF wine glass. Served at 40F.
A: Deep cloudy copper body covered with ~1" of creamy off-white head that lingers for a few minutes leaving thick lacing on the glass. Fine carbonation is evident. Gentle swirling regenerates the head.
S: Dank hops with a bright citrus scent. No overt malt smell.
T: Grapefruit and orange dominate. Hints of a malt backbone, but this is most certainly hop forward. Clean finish with little residual bitterness.
M: Very heavy, almost syrupy consistency. Hop resins leve a slick coating on the inside of my mouth. Good carbonation for the style.
O: A nice double IPA. Perhaps a bit past it's best day, but still very enjoyable.
