Shake out from Aroma Coma with Aroma Prieta. Aroma Coma’s sister beer mirrors its twin starting with primarily American 2-row barley malt and a touch of Caramalt and Rye for body. From there, we turn things upside down. Prieta leaves behind Aroma Coma’s North American hops for some Southern Hemisphere hop action. New Zealand hops Nelson Sauvin, Pacific Jade, and Motueka in the double dry-hop give Aroma Prieta huge aromas of tropical fruit, gooseberries, and grapefruit. Like Aroma Coma but different: breathe in these hops and enjoy.

Another review from the Oregon camping trip of August 2015. Banged this and Aroma Coma back to back. Verdict: They both really good.
Slightly cloudy firmly entrenched in the color yellow pour with 1/3" white head. Nelson aroma dominates the smell test. I think there are 3 other Southern Hemisphere hops here, but its all Nelson you smell, that similar to Mosaic humid weed tropical dankness, but with more hippie garlic to it.
Taste is nice, even though there is a smidge of rye and caramel/crystal malt, it is a super dry malt body that is lighter than you would think a 6.5% beer is. The hops continue their onslaught of flavor without destroying the palate with gripping acidity or bitterness. Overripe papaya. Adequate carbonation. Has a green edge to it.
Man let them bring this back in a four pack, but hell I'd even buy it again in the shitty bomber format because its both unique and excellent.

Surprisingly hazy orangey amber in the glass. Maybe there is some sediment stirred up from a previous pour. Hops are listed as Nelson Sauvin, Motueka, and Pacific Jade from NZ, and Helga from Aus. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at KNB liquors in San Diego.
Remarkable distinctive aroma. Fermenting pineapple and papaya. Big mango flavor. Orange with just a little peel. This is not overly sweet either. It's interesting how low the bitterness is, until finally after some sipping there is a long bitter tang. But with all the aromatics and fruitiness this would be a good lesson in hops for someone new to craft beer.

Honey orange with an off white head. Aromas of strawberry, white grape, melon, pine. Taste of fresh berries up front with lots of white grape notes and a medium bitterness. Love both of drakes aromas but this one is really unique from its use of Australian and New Zealand hops.

An ANZAC IPA? Please, over here! Thanks Tina for the bottle! On to the beer:
This beer is heady, airy on top, light orange colored with visible small carbonation bubbles running through and brightening the appearance. The head retention is excellent on top. The aroma, also pleasing. It offers soft hops, and to be specific, lime, grass, light honey, and spicy hops hit my mind. A fine aroma, but with a name like Aroma Prieta, you would expect an earthquake of hops. The taste turns up the dial one further by bringing a blend of hops and malt which isn't too sweet nor overly hoppy. A pleasing honey base lays the foundation for lime, cantaloupe, and spicy hops to hit. The beer has a smooth texture, not becoming bitter, and its flavor smoothens out as the beer warms.
I will helping myself to a second helping in the future. This IPA is impressive.
