On tap at The Post (Los Altos, CA) poured into a shaker pint. Clear, deep mahogany brown color with a short but thick head of offwhite foam. Aromas of caramel, roasted nuts, earth and subtle berry fruit. Flavour follows with caramel, toasted grains, nuts, and fruity esters, but remains dry with nicely balancing spicy, earthy hops. Medium body towards a creamy feel with moderate carbonation. Nicely balanced and drinkable old world ale.

Pours a malty cola brown, the hue of a rich caramel chocolate. Slight hint of citrus hops underneath a caramel chocolate malt aroma. Tastes decent enough, with a chocolate tinged malt finishing lightly metallic.
