A common beer on the North Island.
Appearance- Amber Body, limited head, low carbonation
Smell- Lots of Bitterness, some Biscuit Malts
Taste- Quite a bit of bitterness and almost sour at times. Interesting for a large scale commercial brew, the malt backs up the bitterness.
Mouthfeel- Medium bodied
Drinkability- By no means overwhelming, pretty run of the mill but a nice chance from the other mainstream lagers on the North Island.

Waikato Draught 4.0% 745ml bottle [NZ. Brewing, Auckland]
On a rainy afternoon in the pub of the South Seas Hotel on Stewart Island (NZ)
Pours amber with a large, sudsy, off-white head that leaves sticky lacing on the glass.
Aroma: some light bready malts but mostly herbal/earthy hops; a bit floral and grassy.
Flavor: Mild; a touch sweet up front and mildly bitter by the finish. The hops dominate the light bready malts.
Feel: Light body; smooth but slightly astringent; good, soft medium-high carbonation.
O: a decent and typical but unremarkable NZ beer.
