Notes/Commercial Description:
Rugged yet smooth, Kodiak Brown Ale balances caramel and roasted malts with enticing Northwest hops. Perle and Willamette hops accent without overpowering this American brown ale's intrepid maltiness. The result is uniquely delicious.

The Kodiak Brown came into the glass in a mean clear dark brown color with a sudsy 1-2 finger foam head and some tight bubble formation. Good looking brown.

The aroma was malty, caramel and nuts. The taste was real good and had a nice sweetness to it. It had a real creaminess to it and gave a good nutty finish. It had low to moderate carbonation and was a real enjoyable brown ale.

deep dark hazelnut brown. Almost completly opaque save for a few hints of light that were wondering around on the side of the glass, giving it some tiny little hints of a reddish hue,

chocolate of all things. Very welcome and very suprising to say the least. A nice rich milk chocolate sweetness was coming through and really sweetining it up. There was then some hints of caramel malts in the back coming up and really letting you know this was a sweet little brown ale. Lots of sweet notes not coming through as well, sugary caramel and some light chcocolate notes are predominant here, with a nice touch of earthy grains making up the backround very nicely. Somel ight hints of wood and vanilla come through as it warms up and really deepen the profile,

Lovelly looking ale, a nice dark brown with a fantastiuc thick and frothy tan head.
Good malty /nutty aromas, faint scent of chocoalte and some whiffs of hop.
Smooth and malty flavours dominate but after a while hazelnut and a slight fruitiness appear and a small hop "kick" at the end.
Very nice indeed on the palate, very smooth and satisfying.
A good rendition of this style and very drinkable. A recommended brown ale.

On tap. Pours brown with foamy beige head. Aroma is of bready malt and dark fruit. Body is medium, creamy and slightly crisp. Taste is of bready, nutty malt, herbal hops, brown sugar and dark fruit. Finish is medium lasting, semi-dry. Delicious Brown.

Appearance: Deep brown with a frothy tan head.

Smell: Malt and minerals with a light touch of smoke.

Taste: Solid malt flavor with a hint of hard water. A slight citrus acidity flows into a crisp touch of bitterness in the finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium body, a very satisfying consistency.

Drinkablity: A well-crafted and tasty brew. Easy to put away.

Pours a dark and slightly cloudy brown color with a smaller off white head.

Bready and spicy nose. Some cream, coffee, and nuts.

Flavors are like the nose, some dark bread, creamy malts, light coffee, and roasted nut flavors. Finish is dry with a mineral hop bite.

Mouthfeel is good, full feeling, not heavy, and well carbonated.

Drinkability is good too. Nice brown ale, reminds me of a nut brown ale. Easy and pleasant drinking, quite sessionable.

Dark red-brown, with a two finger creamy tan head.
Nutty, malty aroma, can't detect any hops here.
Buttery and biscuity taste, some grassy hops, caramel, coffee and toasted malt. A little tart.
Medium feel. Very good but not great, nothing I could identify as being wrong with it however, malt forward but thats fine for a very good brown ale.

22oz bottle -- bottled first week of April according to the label. Poured into a pint glass. Dark brown with about one finger of head. Not a great deal of lacing. And does not appear to be a heavily carbonated beer.

The nose is quite nice with roasted and caramel malts coming through and a trace of chocolate and roasted nuts.

The taste is heavy on the roasted/caramel malts. Some of the chocolate comes through as well. Very malt-heavy brown ale. Maybe a little fruit in there in the form of figs.

Mouthfeel is very smooth. About right for the style I would say as far as far as the viscosity of the beer.

Overall, a very pleasing brown ale. Perfect accompaniment to the cooler autumn days. Provides a nice rich malt taste that is not as heavy as your winter stouts.

Not sure where everyone is getting the "can" I got the 22oz bomber from halftime beverage for 7 bucks.

A - Off to a great start full 1/2 inch of mocha head with excellent lacing, Color is a deep brown hue far from pitch but very clear.
S - Sweet malts, some brown malts, a touch of chocolate and a bit of bittering hops.
T - Warmed up this beer is excellent the hops and malts meet pretty well with little metallic twang. Chocolate malts and brown malts are apparent sweet but light. I like it.
M - Medium bodied, somewhat chewy as expected for the style.

Overall to pull the trigger again I would rather get something more local but this is a nice introduction to Midnight Sun. Maybe someday I will pull the trigger on there 12+ dollar pumpkin stout. It's been a personal tick for a while but I don't usually spend that much regardless of where it's coming from...

Poured from a bomber into a shaker pint, the beer is a bright, vibrant, ruby-tinged chestnut coloring with a low profile, dense, light, tan head that settles into a filmy surface coating. Aromas of roasty nut sweetness, hints of Kahlua, and an earthy character. Flavors are very sweet forward, but remain light on a crisp body. Nutty sweet, hints of caramel, roasted notes, and an earthy highlights. Tangy sweet aftertaste with roasty linger, the beer has a slick, clean finish. Very easy to drink, but rich and robust throughout.

A- Nice rich dark brown ale. Poured into pint glass that left little head that dissipated quickly.

S- Sweet and malty, a nice wonderful brown ale smell.

T- Excellent sweet malty taste kicks you right in the sweet spot. A coffee flavor is slightly sneaking in. A nice taste of dates or raisins is present. The aftertaste is nutty and earthy.

M- Good mouthfeel easy on the palate, the aftertaste does tend to get a bit bitter later on. I suppose I just have to keep drinking it to keep up the sweetness.

D- Easy to drink, over all not too bad a brown ale.
