Notes/Commercial Description:
Intriguing doses of sweet spices, cocoa nibs and pumpkin transform an exceptional porter into a mesmerizing potion. Pour this tantalizing brew into a snifter and experience its many eccentric nuances, which will delight your taste buds.

This is the same award-winning recipe that garnered a GOLD MEDAL at GABF in 2007. Formerly known simply as Imperial Chocolate Pumpkin Porter, we’ve named it T.R.E.A.T.: The Royal Eccentric Ale Treatment.

Thanks again to rudzud for sharing.

Very little fizzy mocha head, pitch black color, touch lacing.

Nose weird, some light pumpkin powder like and vegetable, plenty of nutmeg like spices, cocoa, toasted oats, some chocolate milk and bakers, chalky powdered like, biscuit, toffee, caramel, etc. Little canned pumpkin.

Taste starts with dark malts, little lush but little creamy, plenty of chocolate, cocoa, bakers choc, pumpernickel bread, caramel, molasses etc, lots of oats. Light spices and plenty of nutmeg and maybe hint of cinnamon like. Light bready biscuit malt, chewy, toasty, light nutty peanut butter like, some pumpkin in the background more like pumpkin chai tea or something. Light bitterness little roast even. Finish is sticky and syrupy, sweetish, more dark malts, cocoa, pumpkin chai, nutmeg, etc.

Mouth is fuller bodied, decent carb.

Overall very interesting and unique, nice malts, weird pumpkin chai and nutmeg, interesting but not great.

Yum! I loved this beer. Just as advertisd- pumpkin, spice, and cocoa nibs. You get a nuttiness from the cocoa nibs as well as a bit of chocolate, some nice creaminess and almost a meatiness from the pumpkin, and it's all complemented by some nice pie spices. This a seamlessly integrated beer. Each component playing beautifully off of the next. Great beer.
