Notes/Commercial Description:
The days are long but the season is short. So what gives? Sleep! After doing more before midnight than most Outsiders do in a week, Alaskans deserve some down time. And these moments of relaxation demand more than that ordinary, non-distinct lawn mower beer. Celebrate a day well done with a beer done well—a seriously delicious IPA with some scorchin’ hops.

A- Pours a clear golden orange, a fairly classic double IPA color. The head is a good 2 fingers and sticks around. Lacing promises to be good by the looks of it.

S- Smell is light fruits and malty. Mostly dominated by the strong malts and then the floral hops. Citrus finds its way in there somehow. There is an odd musk that is just bugging me. I can't pinpoint what it is, but it reminds me of a smell you would get from Belgians or even some lighter lagers. This so far is the only downside I am getting from this powerful brew.

T- They definitely don't try to hide the strong bitter hoppyness of this brew and I am very happy they did not. The bitter taste lasts forever and as it starts to fade, the beer calls you to drink more of it. There is also a lot of other hop flavors I am not familiar with but I am not complaining. This is definitely a hop bomb and it's beating me to the floor.

M- Even with all the bubbles sticking everywhere, this brew goes down fairly smooth but with an after bite. The alcohol burn is there, but nothing that I wouldn't expect from a beer of this caliber.

D- This is a pretty powerful brew that could floor you if you let it. It feels heavier then other DIPAs I have had but this doesn't take anything away from it, just means it would be hard to drink more then a bomber or two of it. Definitely in my top 5 DIPAs.

Clear amber with an orange tint in the tall tumbler. Tangy and tart. Citrus aromas and even some orange blossom in the nose. Plenty of foam with a prickly mouthfeel.

This seems more dry than sweet, for all the malt. The alcohol is really hot and fumey. I'd guess it was higher than the 8% actual. The hops are bold and bitter. Flavors start with some mango and orange marmalade and move into the hot citrus peel and then grapefruit pith at the finish. Rather acidic after some sipping.

For my taste, I'd rather have more malty sweetness to go with the bitterness. However, I can see the attraction if you like an IPA that's more intense, rather than a hopped-up malt bomb like the majority of DIPAs. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at QFC in the University shopping center in Seattle.

On draft at City Beer Store, San Francisco.
Tarnished bronze with clingy white film.
Stewy tropical fruit nose.
Peach cobbler with spiky orange rind, orchard fruit, and lemon rind hops.
Orange barley water dinish and oily rind linger.
Medium, chewy, round.

More compote-y than it needs to be. Nothing bright in the aroma. Bits of juice and powdery bitterness, but I’ve seen better.

A - Had a nice, light amber color. A thin head that disappeared quickly.

S- I didn't pick up much smell here, but what I did detect was some herbal hoppiness.

T- Aggressive(at least for an IPA noob) hop bite to start. Decent malt/hop balance. Herbal finish. Pretty bitter

M- The beer foams on the tongue and gives sort of a creamy feel.

O- Definitely better than okay, but not quite outstanding
