For information on Ale Slayers Hockey visit the midnight sun brewing website.

This pale ale pours a very clear orange/light amber/light copper color with a stark white head that lingers well and leaves great lacing.

Nose is absolutely tantalizing with fat ass west coast citrus hop aromas. The malt profile barely comes through with just a touch of sweetness in the nose.

Taste follows. This pale is absolutely WC style with large citrus hops, some pine, and a pretty significant bitterness, by pale ale standards. A nice sweet malt profile is a good backbone, but not even close to rivaling the hops. Eerily similar to Rondy09. The finish is dry and bitter, and dry hop flavors linger into the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel is right about where you want it in a pale. Nice and thin with good carbonation and a nice crispness on the finish.

Drinkability is pretty solid. I will undoubtedly kill this growler on my own tonight.

Overall a very nice and very drinkable hop driven pale ale. Just how i like em. Those who aren't used to drinking hoppy pales or IPAs may find this one a tad bitter, but any seasoned west coast beer drinker will appreciate it that much more. A nice sessionable pale and likely one i will revisit in the growler.

Pours a clear, amber/copper color. 2/3 inch head of a white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of sweet malt, yeast, slight citrus, and hint of hop. Fits the style of an American Pale Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of citrus hops, sweet malt, slight earthy malt, and slight alcohol. Overall, good appearance, aroma, and blend.

A - Poured a clear, golden-amber color with a small, off-white head of bubbly foam. It had nice retention and left minimal lacing.

S - It had a big piney and citrusy nose like an IPA. There was a caramel sweetness in the aroma, too.

T - It tasted of toasty, bready malts with caramel adding a sweet kick. There was a big dose of pine and citrus in the big hop bite.

M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A medium bodied ale with a fairly dry finish.

O - This was good. I assumed it was an IPA because of its big, bitter flavor.

Apparently this is the same as last year's Fur Roddy brew, which I've had...I'll be curious to see how closely my review's match!
On draught at the loft, Ale Slayers is a brassy gold with a white head that leaves nice lace.

Smell is hoppy, lots of herbal, spicy nobles, some doughiness from the malt.

Taste is also hoppy, with a big bready malt back bone. Spicy hops, with a firm bitterness.

Mouthfeel is dry and crisp, a bit watery though.

Drinkability is OK, not a bad pale ale, hoppy, but more so as bitterness and spice rather then the hop flavor I prefer. Looking at my review for the '09 Fur Rondy beer, I preferred that one by a fairly wide margin - I'm assuming it's a freshness issue, as I noted much more pungent hop flavor.
