The name of this beer has been changed to it's English translation "Panty Peeler". However, because the recipe was altered by the brewery, at the time of the new labels, we are listing both as separate beers.

strong light brownish amber with a big, two inch off white head. Lots of foam and lace left over from this one. Lots of visible carbonation was readily apparent. Smell was full of yeast and grain, a touch of alcohol was also present. Picked up some grassy aroma as well. The flavor was a classic tripel. Lots of yeasty flavors, plums, a touch of peach. A lot of bready grains mixed in as well. A touch of alcohol was definatly there and made its presence well known. Great smooth feel due to lots of carbonation. This was actually not as much of a sipper as I would have thought. I was easily able to drink this while walking around no problem. Not saying it would be a session beer, but not a snifter eaither

MSB Épluche-culotte Trippel pours up rather strongly with a moderate white head that rises above the slightly hazy, deep sunset-peach golden body. The lacy, white head dissipates rather quickly leaving some Brussels lace in its wake. The aroma is ripe with fruit (bruised banana, peach pit, blood orange) which emerges more as it warms along with some earthy (cilantro, grassy, leafy), floral (hibiscus, redbud, rosehip) & spicy (black peppercorn, coriander) notes from a combination of the abbey yeast, hops & spices. Alcohol is notable, but doesn't detract. The flavor starts off with some honey & candied fruit sweetness which is barely underscored light bitterness that carries towards a cloying, fruity, cheek warming finish. This bottle may be past its prime? Panty Peeler is certainly worth seeking out. Here's to the "spirited" tripel brewed in America's last frontier!

CHEERS! Beertracker

22oz bottle.

Poured a hazy amber/orange with a large frothy white head. Smells of cloves, peppers, spices, yeasts and citris. Malty sweetness to start then tastes of bananas and spices. Lively carbonation and a dry finish. Alcohol present but well hidden.

The Epluche-culotte pours an orange hazy with a normal center bubble fountain in the middle of the glass which I am used to seeing with the Tripel's. As I opened it, it went crazy wanting to jump to the glass and kept flowing like old faithful.

It was spicy to the nose as well as yeasty, orange and sour apples. The taste was strongly yeasty with a nice fruitiness to it. In the mouth you are left with sour taste on the finish. Seemed to be a little wild yeast in this one...

I found it to highly refreshing and was highly carbonated. The abv was pretty well hidden and maybe I should get my wife to drink a bomber to see if name holds true.

Thanks to the Beast for the bounty I am about to drink.

Pours a big big head, lots of carbonation, POPS! out of the bottle, like sugar smacks, dig em.

Smells like chiquita bananas perfume. Sweet, fruity, and spicy.

This beer is chock full o flavor. Tastes like it smells, sweet, fruity, and spicy.

Has a smooth sweet faint peppery aftertaste that lingers. It just keeps on getting better as you drink it down.

Can I get an amen? Testify to how good this alaskan belgian is. Praise beer.

Spewed out of the bottle when opened, but settled down in the glass with a good, but not overwhelming head that sticks around for the duration of the brew. No real lacing. Typical Belgian yeast smells, but a bit more stone fruit and no banana. Sharper in the herbal department than some with a bit of coriander. Somewhat sweet in the nose, but less so than some. Taste is a bit sharper than some Tripels, and less sweet and again more herbal. There is also a peppery bite on the finish. Some fruit, grapefruit, lemon, bitter orange peel and maybe green plum. All of the fruit is tempered by a bit of sweetness and a big herbal hit. Not sticky sweet in the mouth, but somewhat tannic. A bit challenging, but a unique take on the style.

Appearance: Hazy yellow with a thick white head and rapidly flowing carbonation.

Smell: Yeast, citrus and malt.

Taste: Solid, bready flavor embraced by tangy citrus. Finishes with a mild bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Medium body. Lively carbonation adds fullness.

Drinkablity: An easy drinking and mild tripel that masks its alcohol content well.

4 finger foamy, rocky, white head with a film that laced nicely

Cloudy wheat yellow color

bready yeast, peachy, clove spice dominates nose

spicy hop, nice malt backbone, bready yeast flavors, all very nicely balanced. I cant taste a hint of alcohol, where is the 9%???

mouthfeel is nearly perfect for a tripel, coating but not too heavy.

This is the easiest 9% abv beer i have had in a long time.

Midnight Sun has produced another winner!

Impressive for an american brew. This triple pours slightly more transparent than id like to see a triple, but a beautiful golden, yellowy orange. The head was quality and fluffy like it was straight out of the ardennes. The nose reeks of citrus fruit and coriander. Spices and hops delight. At first taste the spices and citrusy mellow creamy hops dominate. The high carbonation makes it slightly abrasive going down, but by slight I mean very slight. the finish is hoppy with a little orange peel flavor. fructosey residue on the lips. The mouth feel is quite smooth and bites a bit. (in a good way). very drinkable. The one amazing thing about this beer is that you would never guess ( that is if you didnt know it was standard) that this beer is 9% abv. Another good one from m sun, has some belgian characteristics. a good shot. Real good.

A: Cloudy apricot juice color with floaters. The head is sudsy but full, almost totally snow white.

S: White grapes, peach, coriander, orange peel and wheat.

T: Begins seductive and sweet, yet dry and commanding. Yellow fruits such as apricot, banana and white peach tantalite the tip of the tongue. Floral dryness comes next, working its way towards the center of the tongue. Just when I thought the sweetness had subsided, honey swashes explode in the mouth, bringing with it new complexity. Flavors of apple, guava and papaya swirl about the palate, mixing with a newly awakened simple malt backbone. Finishes with licks of vanilla around the sides of the tongue, biscuity malts and soothing pear.

M: Medium body, sort of syrupy.

D: Wow, this stuff is good. I don’t generally consider triples a style I enjoy, but it just goes to show you that a well made beer…regardless of style…is good. If you like triples, find this beer.

Upon opening, this beer just gushes out of the bottle. So, after losing a few ounces, I get the bottle to the glass (let this be a reminder to always have a glass ready!). Pours a slightly cloudy orange/amber color with a 1 finger somewhat fizzy head that stays around pretty well but doesn't leave much lacing.

Smells of light, sweeter citrus and some pineapple. Light, but nice.

Taste is very gentle. Pineapples, light toffee sweetness and a touch of yeast character. Hints of spices. Very delicate and pleasant, yet I wouldn't mind a touch more complexity.

Mouthfeel is very light on the tongue, but also with a nice touch of creaminess and the right level of carbonation.

Drinkability is very good - alcohol is not noticeable and this drinks very easily.

Recommended.

Edit: After finishing the glass, I realized the flavor was deserving of a higher score. The delicacy on this is superb with a respectable level of complexity. Nicely done!

I poured a 750 ml capped bottle into a challis.

A: It poured a bright yellow with an orange hue. There was a healthy off white sticky head of about two fingers. The head receded leaving a rich thick lacing down the side of the glass.

S: It had a citrusy spicy aroma heavy with sweet malts and bready yeast.

T: Nice sweet light malts with an orange citrus flavor. There were hints of white pepper and coriander. It remined me of a glass of tang....sweet yet tangy. Well balanced blend of malts and hops. Not overly spicy.

M: Very full and creamy mouth feel. It has a nice hoppy tang without the bite of hops. The aftertaste is sweet and creamy without any sourness.

D: Very enjoyable brew. Well balanced and creamy with an excellent aftertaste. Might be a bit too filling for multiple bottles in a single session.

Comment: This is a nice brew that stands up well with any domestic tripel. I will buy this one again and again.
