Fairweather IPA is our signature brew: big, balanced and assertively hopped. Light golden amber in color it has a slight hop haze that disappears as the beer warms. Its aroma is predominantly piny hops with subtle malt underpinnings. It is surprisingly full bodied to balance the citrusy flavor, spicy finish and pleasantly lingering bitterness that result from its extravagant hop schedule.

On tap at the pub, Fairweather IPA is dirty blonde with a white head leaving light lace.
Smell is resiny, citrus hops, but with odd, yet very distinct cream soda note. They sell their own draught cream soda, I wonder if they taps or lines or something got cross contaminated...
Taste is hoppy, pungent, and rather bitter. Not much malt balance, just a bit of bread.
Mouthfeel is creamy, with a medium-light body.
Drinkability is OK. Good enough, but the hops balanced is skewed towards bitterness rather then taste and aroma...

Being from Anchorage, I have enjoyed this beer as a Draft beer at the Moose Tooth or as a growler. It is better than most beer I have tasted throughout the United States.

my first beer from broken tooth and its a tasty one, a classically styled ipa, a touch old school in the way its balanced with a fuller malt profile and body, toasty and just sweet enough to balance a truckload of hops, but they do let the bitterness run in here, which i like, smells and tastes nice and fresh where we had it, and while this does the same thing as a whole bunch of others, its nicely crafted and an enjoyable pint. a little bronze glow to the color, close to clear, with an inch or so of thick white foam on top. the aroma is pine forward, could be simcoe and some c varietals driving it, definitely high alpha, but not green or harsh to me at all, lots of kettle hops, less dry hoppy in the nose to me, or i guess a good mix of both is probably more correct. the flavor is long even though the finish is pretty brisk, lightly toasted character to the grain, a honey note, all barley it seems, simple but substantial enough to support all the hops. definite pine and juniper to the hops, a little orange and grapefruit zest to me too, lightly spicy on the finish and more so as it warms up a little. smooth in feel and well carbonation, slightly oily from the hops but less linger than a lot of these have, really tidy on the ferment too. faint copper at the end, a floral wrinkle, and thoroughly bitter. pleasant brew, nice with spicy and rich foods, i will look for more from these guys when i head back to alaska next!

Can into pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy gold-amber with a nice off-white head. Initial impression is pine resin, juicy citrus, and bitterness, nicely offset by caramel malt. Mouthfeel is medium and almost chewy. Finish is caramel and bitterness. Thoroughly enjoyable!

Darker amber with enough "clouds" to make the beer look muddy. Modest head but it leaves ample streaks and spots on the glass.
Pale malt smell with a flowery hop in the background.
The malt tastes darker than the smell but it is very brief because the hop is very strong and dominating. As bitter as the finish may be, the aftertaste fades more quickly than expected.

Pours clear, gold in color with 1/2 inch head. Taste is honey, tangerine, and pine. Slightly bitter, medium bodied and carbonation. Makes for a solid and sessionable clean IPA. I have other IPAs I prefer but this keeps me curious about the brewery.

The appearance was a fairly nice looking hazy somewhat golden orange color with a slim dancing lacing around the glass. The smell was a nice grassy orange to light grapefruity conglomeration of sorts to lead to a nice dry piney - ness of sorts. The taste followed the nose very well. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was there and slightly sharp but not overbearing. Still, there was a nice bitter sharpness coming over my tongue as an expecting AIPA should be. Overall, pretty good AIPA that I would have again if I could.
