Moose's Tooth makes what is quite possibly the best pizza in the world and it is good to know that they have some great beers to go along with. MY father and I decided to get some growlers at Moose's Tooth and I chose the IPA. It did not disappoint.

The head was a little frothy but I considered it to be mostly bubbly and a white toffee color.

It smelled sweeter than I thought it would but that's not a negative against it and of course it was hoppy in aroma.

Upon taking my first sip I enjoyed the bubbly and bitey carbonation that greeted my tongue at the beginning. The hops added bitterness and spice to the beginning but had a nice lingering effect throughout the body. Sweetness balanced the beer very well and was evident in the finish.

This is a full-bodied but light IPA that is very satisfying. Good stuff!

This is an exceptional IPA. The Moose's Tooth is known for their beer and pizza and this is my favorite Moose's Tooth brew. I am a big fan of IPA's and this beer gets good marks for it's consistent taste and drinkability.

The color is just slightly darker than a golder ale. The head is fairly small and often the beer is poured to the very top of the pint glass with barely a head at all. There is a profound hop aroma as any IPA should have. The taste is very smooth and hoppy, tastes of Cascade hops.

A definite summer time drinking beer.

The color of this nice IPA threw me a bit, it was a very lager like pale gold. Head retention was good and lacing ok. Aroma was a bit subdued and had some malty notes with some fresh grassiness. Hoppy, a different hoppiness but good. Not as floral or citrusy, hard to describe but it was nice and satisfying. Very drinkable beer.

If you get a chance to visit anchorage check out this beer at Moses tooth. This IPA is incredibly smooth and full of taste.

On tap at the brewpub the other day.

The IPA pours a light orange color with OK head retention and lacing. Nose is classic IPA, with some pretty noticeable citrusy bitterness and black pepper. On the palate, this IPA is all west coast, with a very dry flavor profile. The hoppy bitterness is huge and impressive, and really dominates everything else. I get some lemon, grapefruit bitterness, with some blackpepper as well. The finish is long, dry and bitter. This beer is at most medium bodied, and alcohol is well disguised.

A very nice IPA, but it seemed just a bit out of balance to me, as a bit harsh as well on the palate. Still, this is a pretty solid beer, one I would happily order again with food at the MT.

ON tap at the Brewpub yesterday, my first beer in AK in two years.

A - Pours a nice bright, darker orange with nice bright white head. Tons of lacing stair stepping down the glass as I drink.

S - Smell is pretty mild, but there is some nice piney hops and grassy/floral tones.

D - Drink is also mild, but again very pine and grassy.

O - A bit muted, but flavor is nice. An IIPA WOULD ROCK!

A- Slightly hazed orange. Head was thin and white, retention was ok but not great. Some lacing.
S- The aroma, though lacking in volume when chilled, developed stronger citrus (definite white grapefruit) aromas when warmed. A bit one dimensional, albeit enjoyable.
T- The malt showed up here. Slightly caramel leaning malt, with a good white grapefruit hop profile. Much more balanced than the aroma, which is key.
M- Medium body. Carbonation was maybe a touch low, but not terribly so.
D- A good local IPA. Major points for the balance in flavors in this day of one dimensional beers.

Picked up a growler from Mooses Tooth. Nice citrus and pine smell. Pours a dark gold with little head. Taste has a bite to it and the hops hits in the back. There are flavors of citrus and somewhat of an apple taste (maybe). One of the best IPA's out there.

Enjoyed on tap and served in a pint glass at the Moose's Tooth.

Not much of a head, save for a partial sheet of swirled white froth on the surface. The beer's a dark hazy gold.

Smells like pine, citrus, and tropical fruits. Very nice.

Tastes really good! There's bitter pine, biscuity breadiness, juicy citrus, and, oddly, a subtle apple cider aspect. Somewhat of a spicy finish. Delicious.

Full-bodied for an IPA. Good.

Really a wonderful IPA from this little brewery. And it goes great with their pizza.

Pretty bitter. It's a solid IPA but nothing amazing.

A decent IPA. Served in a pint glass, it's deep clear blood orange, with a slight soapy head and visible carbonation. Nose is mild hops and hints of pine. Taste is nice sappy hops and resinous pine juice. Pretty solid mouthfeel and good drinkability. Probably my favorite from Moose's Tooth.

On tap at the pub, Fairweather IPA is dirty blonde with a white head leaving light lace.

Smell is resiny, citrus hops, but with odd, yet very distinct cream soda note. They sell their own draught cream soda, I wonder if they taps or lines or something got cross contaminated...

Taste is hoppy, pungent, and rather bitter. Not much malt balance, just a bit of bread.

Mouthfeel is creamy, with a medium-light body.

Drinkability is OK. Good enough, but the hops balanced is skewed towards bitterness rather then taste and aroma...

This is my favorite Alaska beer. Reliable, solid IPA that I always seem to prefer to the competition.

Color is a bright-gold with big white head. Very murky-cloudy since it is unfiltered and dry-hopped.

Big hop-malt aroma. Get close to the glass and you know something good is happening.

Taste is right-on for an IPA. Big hop flavor but lots of malt foundation. Perfectlly balanced.

Mouthfeel is just about right. Good body nicely balanced by the carbonation.
Perfectly drinkable. You can keep the pints coming all night. Especially good with food (pizza).
Fairweather is available at the Moose's Tooth, Bear Tooth Theater, and many beer bars in the Anchorage area. Unfortunately, not packaged or distributed elesewhere.

Appearance: Slightly hazy, orange-gold brew with a thin, off-white head.

Smell: Good hop aroma, strong citrus.

Taste: Well balanced IPA. Great hop presence with a good malt backbone.

Mouthfeel: Medium body.

Drinkability: One of my favorite Moose Tooth beers. Very consistent.

16oz pint on tap at the restaurant. Poured a hazy gold with about one finger of head. Excellent lacing on the glass as the beer is consumed.

Smell consisted of citrus with a nice floral bouquet aroma.

Taste was that of a traditional NW IPA...nice amount of citrus and bitter pucker from the hops.

Mouthfeel was crisp and lively. On par for the style.

Overall was very refreshing and enjoyable American IPA. Nice citrus notes for those who favor that flavor profile in an IPA.
