2011 vintage poured into Cantillon Balloon. 3 years in the cellar.

Pours a radiant gold to light bronze, clear body, light fuzzy white head that dissipates quickly. Gorgeous color to this Gueuze.

Aroma is a brilliant combination of funk, bright fruit, white wine, with hints of oak and mild gruyere. Lots of tart berries, kefir lime, and acidic peach. Almost perfection on the nose.

The palate comes through with heavier funk and earthiness than on the nose. Has a mellow floral character throughout. Lighter fruits, lime, lemon peel, crisp green apple, musky barnhouse, Riesling, sour grape mash, and nectarine/white peach acidity.

Mouthfeel is light bodied and soft carbonation for the style. Drinks pleasantly and is evidently dry and tart but not overly sour or lacking in juiciness. Phenomenal.

One of the finest I've had from Cantillon and the three years age has added a good amount of funk, quite perfect at the moment (or is it this hot weather?) As of late, this, Zomer, and Duck Duck Gooze are my favorite among the "style". Could drink this all day, everyday. Mid-palate is full of complexity while the finish is a lot cleaner. It's that clean finish that makes this so drinkable. Look forward to re-visiting this soon.

Awesome, if just a shade below the best of the best.

Soft, round, mellow, with a rich, nuanced, funky nose. Mouth is just a hair thin, and the finish a touch watery, but otherwise this has a mellow, subtly nuanced character that is endlessly drinkable.

It reminds me much more of their young lambic than it does their gueuze, and hints of paper and must around the edges make me question how well this one will actually age.

The softer acidity and high complexity make this one that I'd love to drink regularly, but as a difficult-to-land, special occasion gueuze, it doesn't necessarily bring the fireworks.
