Served in a footed glass at the Mikkeller bar in SF. From notes. Reviewed 10 August 2013. Vintage 2012.
A: Beautiful hazy red-purple. Cranberry?
S: Funky and very lightly fruity. Wine-like.
T: Hm. VERY light-bodied. Ephemeral barnyard funk. Aftertaste is lightly bitter. It grows in me, providing welcome bursts of tart funk as I drink. The sour cherry is distantly but distinctly present. I like it.
M: A little...weak? Very drinkable, but not a lot going on. Almost like a wine spritzer.
O: I like this beer, but I'm not sure I understand the fuss? Delicate and enjoyable.

The beer comes in a cloudy red, almost light blood red with a pink bubbly head.
The aroma has cherry, woodiness, some sourness, lactic sourness, lots of sweet berry, some funk, vinegar sourness as well.
The flavor has tons of complexity. It hits you with lots of woody oak, cherry, then grape and red wine. Some bitterness and drying on the end. There lots of bubbly carbonation, fizziness, a light body, not much sweetness. A relatively light refreshing body without the sourness, bitterness, or sweetness coming out too much on the end. Lots of acidity as well as barnyard funk.
This really is one of the best sours I’ve had. It actually has some similarities to Supplication, based on my limited knowledge of wild ales, though not as sour and certainty with more red wine characteristics.
