Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Cantillon tulip. Purchased at Yankee Spirits in North Attleboro, MA.

Appearance - Pours a bright cherry colored, slightly hazy body with a light red, huge gushing, fizzy head that reduces quickly and leaves no lacing.

Smell - Has a sweet and sour aroma, fruity cherries, some funkyness, red wine.

Taste - Upfront there are big sour cherry notes, lactic, berries, red wine vinegar. The follow through reveals some sweet notes and a nice oaky aftertaste. Leaves a tart taste on the tongue.

Mouthfeel- Super crisp and carbonated.

Cantillon never lets me down. This was a lot more sour than I was expecting, in a good way. An excellent example of a world-class Kriek. Must try for all Belgian sour fans.

The more I drink this beer, the more I like/love it. Very sweet cherry flavor, as much like a wine as a sour, but the sour does come through in a big way. Gets better as it warms and certainly well made. Oak flavors add to the complexity and enjoyment. If you're into craft, you gotta give the best lambics a try, and this is one of them. Me likey.

June 5 2013 bottle poured into a snifter.

A: Pours a deep cherry red. There was not head which made me wonder if I poured this wrong. Nonetheless, this is a gorgeous looking beer.

S: A strong cherry aroma wafted from my glass and intruded my nasal passage. There is a mild funk and oak character that also adds an interesting depth to the smell.

T: As expected the taste is cherry, cherry and of course...oak. The cherry is very potent and juicy and flavorful. The oak flavor along with some mild funk round out the flavor of this. The yeast also contributes to the juiciness of this beer. Also, this is mildly sour but not lip puckering, eye wincing, nose scrunching, fish face making sour. It's more like I shoved 5 cherries into my mouth at the same time. Just wondrous.

M: The drinkability of this is extremely dangerous. If not for the medium level of carbonation I would be drinking myself into a coma. A very light body reminds me of how delicate this beer actually is.

Overall: This is a fine lambic. Cantillon has proven that they set the bar for most sours. This beer is no different. The cherry flavor is top notch and the oak and funk make this an enjoyable beer. I'm glad I got to experience this. I guess I have to find some more of this!

A- Hazy bright ruby, one finger pink head.

S-Lots of cherries, mild funk and a tad bit of oak.

T-Lots of cherries, maybe too much. Mild funk, tad bit of oak and rather sweet.

M-Lighter, nice carbonation, tad watery though.

O-A good Kriek, bordered the line of overly sweet and not sour enough but stayed to the right side of the divide.
