bottle poured into a tasting glass. pours apricot orange with minimal head and a soapy rim that lasts a minute or two.
aroma is lightly sour with raspberries and a touch of sweaty funk that is sustained by the fruit. the raspberries sit right alongside the sour note, without much of a sweet quality, and a ripe aura.
taste is wonderfully tart with more of the same, and a distinct vinous sour note that enhances a mellow raspberry note. excellent on the palate. the berries are ripe with a sour character.
mouthfeel is medium bodied and tart in texture with a vinous like mouthfeel next to the tartness.
drinkability is solid. this is a very mellow sour beer with a wonderful bouquet of fruit, funk, and sourness. a masterfully composed brew by Cantillon. these guys never cease to amaze with their excellent brews. cheers!
