Poured from the 375 ml bottle into a snifter.
Pours a classic raspberry pink color with impossibly thick and sudsy head about two fingers high.
Aromas are mainly funky and tart yeast with some berry sweetness on the back end.
Taste is delicious. Sour, tart puckering with nice raspberry flavor. Finishes perfectly clean leaving my palate neutral.
Mouthfeel is excellent. Crisp.
Overall this beer is delicious and expertly crafted. Bravo!

Had on cask at Cantillon in Brussels. Poured into their stemmed taster glass. I love the color of this. It's a tad lighter than the LPF (in more categories than just color) but brilliant light pink. More head than Kriek, maybe half an inch on my pour. Smell is not a raspberry bomb, but definitely raspberries up front. Classic funk towards the end. Taste is great. Mix of funkiness, sourness, and fresh raspberries. The carbonation on this is light as well, I would've liked to seen a little more. Overall, a really nice beer, and I preferred this over Kriek, but of course LPF over this.

2014 vintage, opened in celebration of my 3rd child. Tasted like wine to me, nothing stood out and not near as funky as their other stuff. This was my least favorite Cantillon to date, but still good.

Such a great beer. I got lots of nice floral notes on the nose and drinks with nice carbonation and mouthfeel. I did get a little vinegary acidity initiall, but it calmed down as I drank it.

Had out of a freshly opened 375ml bottle in a tulip glass. Pours a deep ruby red color with a thin laced head. The funky smell upon opening was very intense almost off putting. Not as well balanced flavor as other lambics from cantillon. The bubbles over powered the sour raspberry notes which was disappointing.

Tasted on keg for Zwanze Day.

Very raspberry. The most beautiful raspberry flavour I have had from a beer. Acidity is high but it blends perfectly with the fruit. Tannins and barrel are there.

Pours an amazing cherry red color with a little bubbly white head. Brilliant fruity, funky, floral aroma. Taste follows aroma with a nice balance of sour, funk and fruit. Light bodied. Dry finish. A great lambic.

Poured a cherry red with minimal white head. Very tart. It took a couple tastes to appreciate. Pretty bubbly mouthfeel. I was only able to get a 6 ounce pour, and would have enjoyed more.

Wow what a beer. Pours a dark ruby red with a pink colored head. More carb then usual with most other cantillons but it wasnt a bad thing at all. Rose was all i wanted and more. The raspberries add to the funky/sour thing going on with the base beer and improves it to me. Need to get more now

It looks a nice rich raspberry red body with splatterings of fuschia bubbles
It smells like a wine & raspberryade spritzer
The taste is dominated by aspirin tartness & rose wine & raspberry
more fizz than I'm used to with Cantillon
always interesting & sometimes challenging like it's other stablemates

Bottle age of approx 1.5 yrs, and I think that was far too long to wait. Raspberry presence was extremely subdued, forcing you to really search for it, or wait for the odd moment it popped its head out. Nose was intense but not near as complex as, say, a similarly aged good non-fruited gueuze, such as 3F's. Instead, it just raw funk, a little foul, no big pops of fruit, nor anything else to provide much depth, both in nose and palate. It's certainly a well-executed beer, and tastes to style, but it simply does very little to distinguish itself from other lambic.

Pours bright Marachino cherry red with a solid pink head. Settles to rim bubbles and leaves no lace. Clear broth.

Smells like soured children's aspirin--a bit of the fake orange for the nose. Attractive, though, and unusual.

Sour start and very dry. There's a bit of bitter cherry in the mouth. The finish brings back the sour and dryness. I also note some floral notes. Thin and watery for the body. Definitely something to try for a complete change of pace.

#500 and it was a doozy! Brewed 1984, bottled 1986!

Look- almost like a red/pink center with color fading clearer around the perimeter 4.50

Smell- wonderful no off smells this held up extremely well can smell the tart and actually some fruit (not bad fruit) to it 4.50

Taste- outstanding still extremely balanced fruit is very much present this has not fallen off at all. Nice tart and fruit so balanced.Like heaven on my mouth. No hints of vinegar, diacetly or any off flavors even with a very easily breakable cork-5

Feel- unbelievably smooth, like drinking a lambic for the gods. Holy smooth fruit. Smooth smooth smooth. 5

Overall 4.75 once in a lifer guess I'll be buying double cantillon to do this again someday. Truly unbievable

A: poured from a 375 mL bottle into a pint glass, red, really red with a short white head that lingers leaving some lacing, clear

S: acetic acid, balsamic vinegar, raspberry, amazing

T: very tart, raspberry, balsamic vinegar, beautifully delicate and sour, heavy noble hop bitterness on finish that sits on the tongue

M: light and fresh

O: Absolutely excellent lambic. Fruit flavors are fantastic.

Rose De Gambrinus has a brilliant amber appearance with a sheen of ruby red. It's purest white head and fizzy pour is indicative of heavy carbonation. The mysteries of the aroma are difficult to pinpoint, but one can certainly detect an array of fruit and berry - raspberry of course being prominent, as well as citrus and herbal notes. A great lambic funk dominates the flavor washing over the palate. Unlike other fruit lambic beers, the base beer is on display rather than the raspberry. The finish has a puckering aspect, yet the mouth feel is relatively soft. A unique beer, I'm glad to have had the opportunity to enjoy this entry in Cantillon's catalog.

Pours a bright pink hue. Fresh macerated raspberries on the nose. Taste is like taking a handful of fresh raspberries from the local grower. Evenly balanced tartness to compliment the astringency of the fruit. Easy to crush a full 750mL and want more and more!

An absolutely beautiful beer. Big fluffy pink head on rose-colored beer. Head dissipated fairly quickly without lacing. Nose had that classic Cantillon funk, but was not overly horsey or odd like some wild yeasts can be. It was funky but fresh and not overly powerful. Flavor was, of course, sour, dry. Fruit lent a tart acidity with a dry raspberry nuance. Mouthfell was right on. Full carbonation without feeling like soda pop, like a fine champagne. Overall, a classic.

750ml bottle at the Delirum Tremens cafe in Brussels. Served in a pair of whine glasses. Bottled On is 21 October 2014.

Pours pink, moderately hazy, with a slight pink head that fades to a ring. Fairly still. Smell is cherries and flowers. Not overwhelming.

Taste is quite tart. Not heavy on the fruit. Cherry and cherry blossoms. Just a little green vegetation.

Mouthfeel is very acidic, dry, light. Overall, very good.

Beer 1,000 on Beer Advocate. Thought I'd make it something special.

375 mL bottle served into a tulip/wine glass hybrid.

Stunningly exquisite appearance on this beer. It's got a dark cherry-colored body with lighter pinkish hues at the base of the glass. It seems as though it's hazy but close examination reveals a clear body---it's just such a deep red that the eye wants to mistake the color for cloudiness. On the pour, a foamy, full head forms and shows some real thickness, before it rapidly fades and devolves into a layer of sticky lacing. 5

The nose is heavy with fruit---I'm thinking tart cherries and lemon and cranberries--- before an earthy, sour and tart aroma. 4

There's something much more robust about the flavor when in comparison to the nose. More cranberry, a quick moment of cherry soda-like flavor, sweet maltiness, and the lemon tartness towards the end. A flavor like crisp apple lingers on the tongue. 4.25

Rose de Gambrinus feels more tart and acidic than other beers I've had from Cantillon and 3F and this slows the drinking process a bit. It's much more mouth-puckering. It has a really pleasant mid-palate swirl of malt that sweetens things up and offers some body, followed by some bubbly carbonation that adds color before the dry finish. 4.25

Plenty to really enjoy about this beer, but I do find it a little harsher than other lambics I've had that were truly mind-blowing.

Raspberry and cherry nose, wet compost, over ripe fruit and citrusy tartness. This looks like a sparkling rose with foam and combines the delicate champagne bubbles with the beer body and fluffy, rapicly dissipating pinkish white head. It is tart, lemony, fresh, funky with raspberry and cherry flavors. Very refreshing.

One of the prettiest beers Ive had the pleasure of trying, the ruby red color really is pronounced. I was slightly off put by the smell with hints of vinegar, but the taste put any concerns to rest. Amazing raspberry flavor with a sharp tart finish.

375ml bottle poured into a Vedett tulip glass.

Look: Beautiful, deep, raspberry red - reminded me a lot of the colour of the red wine vinegar I keep in my kitchen. Pinkish head, fairly thin and bubbly which recedes to nothing fairly quickly.

Smell: Raspberries, red fruit and vinegar - you can tell this is a lambic, all right. That said, the vinegary/funky smells don't overpower the fruit at all, leading to an interesting combination of the two which, whilst not unpleasant, is a little bit ... odd. But in a good way. Let it breathe and you'll get some citrus and woody/earthy notes, but really it's raspberries and vinegar all the way.

Taste: Raspberries and sourness, the latter of which is almost abrasive but manages to complement, rather than overwhelm, the former. The tartness gives way to a rather interestingly earthy flavour in the finish.

Feel: Quite light in the body and very fizzy, which helps to accentuate the sourness. Very long, very dry, earthy finish. There are fruit beers with far more body out there, but in this case the combination of high carbonation and relatively light feel works a treat.

Overall: It's Cantillon, so the chances of this one being a duffer were always going to be pretty low. Bear in mind, though, that this is not your typical framboise - if you're after something sweet and/or syrupy then you're most definitely in the wrong place. On the other hand, if you're a fan of gueuze or sour beers in general then this is worth the asking price and then some.

Forgotten as one of the better Cantillons.

The beer hits of fresh raspberries, a lemony tartness, and decent funk quality. Great carbonation.

Balanced, tart, complex.
