750ml bottle served in a chalice.

A: Nice bottle art, first of all. Pours a cloudy orange color forming a small white head with very small retention. Only very few lacings are formed and left in the glass

S: Very fruity and vinegar, as expected. Quite winy: with strong notes of white wine. Some notes of oak. Earthy yeasts and bit metallic end

T: Very fruity upfront. Funky. Dominated by Muscat grapes. A bit metallic in upfront too. Lemony acidity. Strong notes of vinegar. Oak. In overall, quite sour and dry. Earthy yeasts

M: Light body. Low carbonation. Acid, as usual, with a strong Lambic fruitiness in the aftertaste

O: Good drinkability. Classic Cantillon, I mean, a very fruity beer that is, at the same time, tart and extremely dry

750ml bottle poured into stemmed Night Shift glass. Bottled 12/24/2008.

A: Pours a deep golden amber color with a short lived fizzy bright white head that quickly faded into a fuzzy collar.
S: Super funky and stinky notes of earthy musk, fine aged cheese, dry straw, damp basement, and vinous oak barrel. Funk is mainly cheesy, with some mild golden fruit sweetness poking through.
T: Dryness is very woody as the oak really shines. Funk is extremely cheesy and earthy with notes of sweet golden fruit up front and vinous white wine in the finish. Oak throughout, dry earthiness, slight acid but mild tartness.
M: Very mild carbonation, dry tannic mouthfeel, light acid bite, ultra dry and gritty with tannins.
O: Very smooth, ultra dry, very cheesy, musty, and flavorful. Balanced and not overbearingly tart. Gueuze-like. Loved it.

Bottled Nov. 5, 2009

A - Pours a slightly hazy golden body with a fizzy one finger head. Not really any retention or lacing, though I don't expect it with this style.

S - An overwhelming musky funk at first, which you can work your way through. Lemon peel, hint of oak, white grapes and that good musky funk all over.

T - Has a nice sour white grape to it with lemon tartness and oak.

M - Light bodied and low carbonation without feel flat. It has a dry finish and is so easy to drink.

O - There's no wonder this is rated so high. No hype here folks!
