Burnished gold with white film.
Musky mead and grape on the nose.
Honey and white vinegar, some toasty grain, with grape skin tartness.
Green apple skin finish and acetic linger.
Crisp, light-medium, fizzy.

Not unlike wine. Not that sour either. A clean if bracing palate cleanser.

Clear bright golden colour with a smooth, white head. Half-decent head retention for the style.

Classic Cantillon lemon notes with a lot of funk. There is a ton of acid on the nose with a light, light, light grape note.

Really interesting. Lots of funk with a noticeable enteric note. Lots of acid with lemons dominating and then a white grape note that sort of sits there. Interesting.

Medium-light body with moderately-high carbonation. Good.

A really solid fruit lambic. There is an earthy note added by the grapes that is really nice. I'd love the fruit to be just a touch more prominent but I'm clutching at straws here.

2011 bottle at Mecca(Cantillon).

Big fluffy white head that retains well on top of a slightly hazy deep golden orange body.

Has a sweet white grape smell to it along with the signature hay funky barnyardness of Cantillon.

Grape, green apple, grass, lots of cheese at the back end. There is some light sweetness.

Has a mellower tartness than I've experienced from some Loons but still bigger than most lambics out there. The carbonation is a little subdued with a medium body. It is so smooth. The saliva just doesn't stop flooding my mouth while drinking this.

I thoroughly enjoyed this. Damn.

RIP my cheap bottle opener/corkscrew, 2009-2013

Appearance: Lightly hazy, gold/straw - small, white head - fades to a tiny cap and an elegant ring - not much lacing, but this is forgivable

Smell: Sour, tart, and lovely - gently acidic, with some lemon and other light fruit skins - tart apples, and some white grapes - lightly musty, wet, and damp - wet, chewy smelling wood

Taste: Sour and complex - acidic and lactic sour, distinctively Cantillon - wet, damp, and musty, with some hay and horse - simultaneously clean, with some crisp, light fruits - tart apple skins, with some white grapes - a nice undercurrent of lemon in the background - funky, and lightly sweet

Mouthfeel: Medium body, nicely smooth, somewhat refreshing, could use more carbonation

Overall: I can't spell "Vigneronne" but I can't complain about anything else in this beer

Cantillon is consistently fantastic. This is no exception. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to try this. I'm curious what a couple of years of age would do to this, since it's already so balanced.

Big thanks to angrybabboon for sharing the bottle.

Appearance: Slightly hazy dark yellow/gold. Tiny bright-white collar. Minimal carbonation. Glows when held to light.

Smell: Fruity. Grape skin and flesh with a touch of peachy goodness. Layers of funk and a light earthy oakiness. Lemon rind. Citric bite on the back. Touches of hay and grass layered over a slight white wine. Floral. Some orange and apple, very mild. Nicely complex. Some pale malt in the back.

Taste: Grapes everywhere. Skin, flesh, and wine. Slightly acetic with a bigger citric bite. Minor oakiness runs through the back. Touches of funkiness. Lemon juice with a touch of rind. Soft peach with some apple. Vinous with a touch of spritzer. Earthy. Hay and some pale malt in the back. So much grape in a tart, white wine, way. Floral.

Mouthfeel: Minimal carbonation. Body runs medium with a push toward light. Smooth and dry at the same time.

Overall: Loon hunting season is open.

Nice soft fruitiness with the Cantillon funk. Yet another beer that I need more of and will never see. Time machines are coming right?
