2007 Vintage (bottled in 2009)
A: Pours a gorgeous dark red with a whitish pink head. This is a beautiful looking beer
S: Smell is funky and oaky with a light hint of cherry
T: Wow, this is an intensely cherry (like authentic cherry pie cherry) without being that sweet and the funkiness and oak carry into the flavor, it's got some sourness to it, but the sour is definitely in the background here while the cherries dominate.
M: Carbonation is fairly high and beer is medium bodied, nothing particularly spectacular, but solid for this beer.
O: Overall this is a hell of a beer. It's not as sour as I expected given how sour the regular Kriek is, but there's still some sourness there. However it's got one of the most intense real fruit flavors I've ever had in a beer, and that flavor mixes fantastically with the oak, funk and sourness.
