Bottle from Tipples. Awesome score here and had to leave work early to snag it. 2010 sticker poured into a tulip on February 15, 2014. Pours bright bright darkish red and totally clear. Bright pink fizzy one finger head on top and dissipates quickly. Aroma of lots of vinegar, tart cherries and cherry skins. Flavor is sour vinegar up front and then lots of cherry skins and tart but sweet cherries. The balance here is outstanding. Not medicinal at all, cherry is highlighted but not overpowering like the New Glarus cherry brew, and it comes together beautifully. A nice vanilla oak in the backdrop that really mellows this out. Juicy cherries but lightly dry finish. Medium light mouthfeel, full flavored, and big bubbly carbonation. While cherry isn’t my favorite in beer, this balances it as perfectly as possible. Very nice.

2007 vintage... Bottled Sept. 4, 2009

A - Pours a dark cranberry body with a froth light pink head. Settles down into a pink ring of froth around the glass.

S - Tart to sour nose full of cherries, funk and light oak.

T - Not hugely sour or even overboard tart to me at first. Definite funk going on mixed in with mild oak and acidic qualities. The finish is more sour to me than the beginning.

M - Light bodied, high carbonation and a dry finish.

O - Very enjoyable, to say the least.

Bottle to tulip glass. Straight from the cellar. Slightly below room temperature. Some what viscous. Shared with Jake_ramrod.

A. Fairly aggressive pour yields a dark ruby color and light ruby head of one finger. Mildly effervescent.

S. Tart. Tart cherries mainly. Sour yeast and bacteria. Fairly straight forward.

T. A little more going on compared to the nose. Medium tartness. Sour cherries certainly dominant with a noticeable neutral oak component. Minor notes of plumes, cranberries, and apples. Mucha fruit.

M. The viscosity thins out as it warms which makes it much more smooth. Low carbonation. Light body.

O. This is a beautiful kriek. Wonderful smell and taste. This maybe my favorite Cantillon (so far). I would certainly purchase this ale again. Certainly recommended.
