Sampled from a 750ml bottle in a large Duvel glass. Bottled 27 Feb 2012. Enjoyed while cooking a Flemish Beef Stew so I was certainly in the mood.
A - A brilliant gold with good clarity and a dusting of white head. A limited but steady rise of bubbles.
S - Funky, lemony and oaky. Not much cognac.
T - A nice tart, lemony start. Not overly sour but rather balanced and thought provoking. The finish fades quite a bit though a hint of the cognac seems to come through. This is really two different beers. I much prefer the start over the finish. But overall, I enjoyed this a lot.
M - Moderately thin with a low but welcome carbonation.
O - A tasty, well seasoned beer. Just not one of my favorites from Cantillon.
