Bottle shared last night at Umberto's tasting. '14 vintage.

This one pours light orange, with a 1.5 inch head, and a little bit of lacing.

Smells like the freshest, ripest apricots, with some funk, oak, and a slight hint of vinegar.

This tastes like biting into a tart apricot cloud. It's so light, and heavy at the same time- huge tart apricot flavor up front, with a highly carbonated but creamy finish, big white wine barrel character, and a nice funky and earthy character, along with some mild oaky vanilla. This is fantastic.

This has an amazing light airy mouthfeel, almost like drinking a cloud, as I said above. The carbonation is high. The beer is incredibly drinkable, but you've gotta savor every sip of it.

This is the best sour I've ever had. It's a fantastic achievement.

Dark lemon-orange with piles of loose white froth. 4
Floral, lemon rind wax, a bit of funk - big and fragrant. 4.25
Up front orchard fruit, touch of horse blanket, some herbs, and wild woody vinegar. 4
Earthy finish and clean acid linger.
Light, round, slight cling. 4.25

-- Knife edge balance - fizz, fruit, funk, all perfectly aligned. Not too much pucker, just some apricot stone sulfur, tart more than wild. Top class. 4.5

I really enjoy lambics but, unfortunately, don't know a lot about them and haven't tried many of the ones that are considered the very best. Cantillon's Fou' Foune did impress me a lot, though. I had it on draft a few weeks ago at The Hourglass Brewery and am very glad that I got to try it without having to trade for or purchase a bottle. Now that I've tried it, I definitely will consider those options with confidence.

FF is delicious. Mildly sour, appropriately and slightly sweet with a great color and a pleasant aroma ... so much to take in and appreciate. This is one of my favorite Cantillons, to date.

I rated this 4.5 on Untappd and might give it the full 5-star review next time, if I'm fortunate enough to try it again.
