Cork literally pulled apart on exit...kinda strange. Initial pour appearance is excellent. Great clarity with four-finger white foamy/snappy soap voluminous head. Brew is nice peach color with tint of orange and yellow.

Aroma is funky, ripe stringy, lacy, full of peach, apricot, apple, not much tartness on the nose. Well done aroma for being to barnyard and funky.

Flavors are light vinegar, nice light smooth sweetness is well blended with strong earthy pine dry bitterness. Full of horse blanket and barnyard earth... Carbonation is much lighter than expected and much appreciated.

IMO, this is a bit of an over-hyped brew, but it's still very nice and enjoyable. It's a damn fine, highly drinkable, earthy sour, just a bit over hyped... Very solid, I just don't believe it's tops in class, but definitely a top 10-15 brew for it's class. Recommended, yes, even @ $30/750/ml

Served on tap as part of the Anniversary celebration of The Beer Trappe in Lexington, KY.

A: A slightly cloudy, golden apricot. Just seeing it in that tiny little glass gave me joy.

S: Smell of a good, solid, biting sour, with a twinge of apricot. Makes me elicit that 'sour cringe' just thinking about it now.

T: A rock-solid sour bite with a smooth finish that doesn't linger. Very faint apricot, not as much as I remember tasting in a Cascade Apricot Ale.

M: Smooth, with sour attacking the middle/back of the mouth.

O: Definitely one of the best sours I have ever experienced. The buzz of something this rare showing up in a town this far from a major metropolitan area was justified. Very happy to have experienced this even once.

Bright golden color with a cloudy yet radiant hue. The head was an immensely thick foam with surprising retention.

The aroma was a tinge sour with a fragrant apricot, lemon, Chardonnay and soda water and straw.

The flavors were nicely smooth and well balanced but not overly pronounced. The apricot was lightly sweet with a lemon, honeysuckle, raw honey and a white wine or Chardonnay like quality.

The feel is light and bubbly, almost spritzer like, but smooth and easily drinkable.

This is a very good lambic and it feels almost sour like but Top 12 in the World, absolutely not!

Pours a hazy golden with a lingering frothy white head.

Aroma is lightly funky, slightly sour, vinous, lemony, and doughy. There's an earthy character countering, as well. Floral notes renege.

Flavor is quintessentially sour initially, lactic, with fruity notes of tart lemon, apricot, and strawberries adding complexity. Earthy, slightly barnyard notes form the base and carry into the lightly dry finish. Notes of sweet tart candies surface late, complementing a very light confectioners sugar sweetness.

Body is a touch light, with high carbonation. Very refreshing, with light alcohol warmth.

I hyped this beer up pretty highly, perhaps too much so. While it's a very clean, perfectly sour beer, I expected a little more fruit presence. The fruit comes out a bit more as it warms.
