Formerly Pineau d'Aunis and Pinot d'Aunis.
Lambic d'Aunis was originally a test batch using Pineau D'Aunis grapes provided by Olivier Lemasson at Les Vins Contés. This beer is very similar to what was later brewed and released as Zwanze 2011, however that beer also had Brambling Cross hops added. Pineau d’Aunis grapes are a minor grape from the Loire region of France.

Pour at de Garde 10th Anniversary. Ruby pour with a small, thin pinkish head. Fruity aroma, red grapes and pit fruit. FRuitiness carries over to the taste, with the requisite tartness and funky notes. Splendid.

The third pour on the 2021 Zwanze Day lineup. This was my favorite of the bunch. So light and delicate, with a gentle berry-sweet note on it. Incredible finish. This is the sort of beer I could sit with and spend an afternoon sipping.

2017 bottle, drank on Lisa's bday in 2020 since we wouldn't be in Belgium for it...

Pours a ruby red, with some carbonation that quickly dissipates. The aroma is a tart grape; the taste is a faded wine that becomes a bit more funky while working through the bottle.
Bottled 13 November 2017; purchased at the brewery during 2018 Quintessence.

On tap at Belmont Station the other day. Was quite surprised to see a keg of this here in PDX, and even though I'm not a sour fan, I just couldn't resist.
The beer pours a fairly light rose color with pretty decent head retention and lacing. The nose is just mind boggling. No brewery I know of makes a beer that smells like this. There's a huge aroma of wet blanket, barnyard and camel sweat, along with some barely detectable lime, lemon, wine and dark fruits. This beer smells like a rancid chicken coop on a warm day (but hey, in a good way). Fortunately, very little of that barnyard aroma comes through on the palate. Also, while the beer is on the tart side (with mouthwatering acidity), there's enough fruit and earthiness on the palate that I'm not overwhelmed by it. Mouthfeels is fairly light, with a long, dry, tart finish. Alcohol is very well integrated into the flavor profile and is essentially unnoticeable.
Interesting beer to try for sure, even if it's clearly not my cup of tea.
