Poured form a 75 cl bottle into a Cantillon chalice
I'm going to be honest, I'm not great at describing beers. But this one is amazing. It's one of my all time favorite beers. My absolute favorite in its style. If you're familiar with Cantillon, think the Zwanze, but more red wine, particularly a right bank Bordeaux, than white wine. Perhaps the reason I love this so much is that it is a perfect blend of Bordeaux and lambic. I've had almost every kind of Cantillon beer and loved them all. They are fantastic in different ways. But this is the one they really got right.
One hell of a beer, especially if you moonlight as wine snob.

A: Nice and elegant: a cloudy/hazy purplish (sort of vinous, ruby reddish) body. Pink/off-white foamy head with some decent retention and lacing
S: An assortment of a vinous sour, tartness, and funk surface the notes of lemon, cherries, grapes, berries, apple, and oak
T: Exquisite tartness and Lambic funk among the berries, cherries, & grapes. The acetic, citric, and vinous compositions are impressive
M: Lots of great carbonation with this light to medium bodied Lambic
O: I expected great things, and I got great things. In its complexity it’s a very well balanced funk, fruit, vinous Lambic that delivers

Bottle at Cafe Derat
Straight pour builds up a head that falls apart in seconds. The body looks like a wine with its red color.
Grapes and funk dominate the nose. Slight wet woodiness.
Big Merlot grape flavor, sharp tartness, lingering musty funk.
Prickly, light body, and dry.
A winner for sure. The flavor is so good. Even popped a bottle with some spaghetti bolo in Belgium cuz why not. The grape flavor is so nice.
