2008 bottle - Pours a cloudy carnelian red. Confession: I looked at the Wikipedia "list of colors" page & that was the closest hue. The nose features cherry, oak, and subtle funk. Upfront fruity flavors, slightly sweet but giving way to understated tartness. Definitely pronounced sour notes on the sides of the tongue. Oak emerges on the finish, with some lingering tart citrus flavors.
There is no shortage of flavor levels here, yet their combination is incredibly nuanced. A masterpiece from Cantiillon.

My only bottle split with friends two nights ago before leaving on a very long road trip. Notes taken during consumption.

A- Deep muddy purple pink hue with a small fizzy head that falls from one finger to nothing. I would say retention is low-minimal for the style. No lace or legs but the brew itself has a very beautiful color.
S- Fresh cantillon bug produced funk blend is strong with added Merlot grapes that are quite massive. Notes of oak, lemon, lactic and acetic, most vinous of Cantillon for me.
T- Follows the nose very closely with a massive grape vinous feel that brings stems and all. This is above the classic Cantillon funk blend, acetic and lactic, some cherry brett basement barnyard.
MF- Dried out light bodied with high end carbonation bringing some fizz to the palate but key to support the flavors. Finishes with a medium sourness not quite as high as other Cantillon.
Vinous, Merlot grape fruit bomb with the classic Cantillon Gueuze feel. It blends together well and creates a very refreshing, hybrid style beverage between beer and wine.
