i've been here two back to back friday nights over the past couple of weeks since luckily i had to visit family in manhatten beach (about an hour drive from chino hills in light to no traffic). i gotta say i enjoy this place. about 70 or so taps dominated by micro/craft brews. a very good bottle selection too although i would not frequent this place to buy bottles as prices are much more than the excellent bottle shops we have in so-cal.
the place is someone hard to find if not familiar with the area. on my first visit, i found some 'free' parking since it was evening but, it was on the opposite side of the pier ... so, the walk was about 10 minutes. basically think kincade's restaurant and park in the garage (my last visit for a few hours costs $2.00). since both times i was there at 7:30ish pm on friday night i am sure parking could be a zoo and difficult during the afternoon and weekends.
the cliente is quite interesting. my list visit, there were some biker types out in the front, inside were a mix of surfer types, locals, tourist, beach bums, and yuppies. all kinds of people but, everybody was enjoying themselves. the place itself is not fancy at all. as said, a bit dingy but, it is on the pier where the environmental elements are strong (salt water, wind, etc ...). think a little worse than the pizza port location in carlsbad but, nowhere near as bad as the freakin' frog in las vegas. the only thing is that the bar tables and stools are very close to each other which makes me knock down the points on atmosphere.
the food ... NOT recommended. if you have to eat, stick with the appetizers. i got a mixed plate with cheese sticks, chicken strips, jalapeno poppers and zucchini (sp?) ... it was edible but, nothing to rave about. other food items i saw people eating did not look that good at all plus, everything seems to be cooked right in the open next to the cashiers on an old stove/deep fryer. the food is real killer in the points for me.
the place is quite loud with music blaring but, for a place like this it is kind of expected. did not stay long enough but, a band was setting and the band starts playing between 9-10pm. although mostly a beer joint, kids are allowed until the band plays.
NOW, the big RAVE on this place is the beer. what i enjoy is they fill the glass to the top and the selection is just the best i've seen of tap anywhere. prices are very decent given the amount of pour you get. i can tell the people working the counter enjoy pouring the better beers on the list. i always got a thumbs up or positive nod when ordering avery maharaja, pliny the elder, and avery hog heaven for example.
my main advice would be to eat first before going there. both times i went it's been on an empty stomach. due to that, i could only take down two beers although i would love to have at least three or four since the selection will make your mouth water and drop!
cheers!

Been here multiple times! Love their finger foods must admit they have a large selection of beer on tap! They do have a juke box in which you can put music; television screens to watch the games, and during the weekends live bands.

One of the best bars I have been to in terms of craft beer selection. Unbelievable actually. Service is not the best, but the location and selection is fantastic.

Good place for a non-drinker to take their beer connoisseur friends from Pariguay.

Selection should be a 6.0 for this place. Best beer joint in the state.

Went during LABW for the FSW tapping event they had. Waited 3 hours in a overly crowded dive bar that had reggae music blasting so loud I could barely have a conversation with the people I was with. The lines were long and apparently they couldnt figure out how to tap the special beer that day. I went back n forth about 10 times constantly kept asking while in a line just to try the beer and one the guys just kept telling me "Bro, youll know its tapped when we announce it"..Well I gave up and on my way out of leaving, find out they tapped the beer and told no one..how thoughtful of you guys seriously. I got what was left in a pitcher prolly half a pints worth and it wasnt worth the hassle. I will not be coming back here for any event they have.

Stopped by a few beers while in Torrance on business.
Had a blast! Great beer selection, though they said it was down due to preparing for the an upcoming beer fest. Live band on the inside; the harbor, beautiful sunny day and fishing boats right outside the windows. Grabbed a Port Swami to begin with, then asked the boys behind the bar what I would like that I couldn't get at home similar to the Sculpin and Wesy Coast IPA they also had on the board. He said Dirt Wolf not knowing I was from PA!
Low and behold they had Pliney!! Was not listed on the board, but they readily volunteered it. Made my day!
A must see...

It's really hard to rate this place. The selection is obviously incredible and the best around hands down. But the crowd/atmosphere is not so great and seemingly not there for the ridiculous beer selection. I prefer going when it's less crowded so I can just chill out and really enjoy what I'm tasting.

Dingy old feel, I was the youngest person in there, best beer selection in south bay. Must go.
Very few women, however very few attractive women are into craft beer so that is a push.
Right on the water enjoy a nice ocean breeze, weekends have live music from a fun garage band.

Went there during their annual IPA Festival--over 70 IPAs on tap and 2-3 rotating on cask. Amazing selection, esp. of SoCal IPAs.
The place is right on the boardwalk. It has kind of a dive bar feel, but I kinda dig that. Then again, it's right next to the beach which helps, too. The place can be loud with music playing from a jukebox or sometimes a live band playing. There is a quieter side bar where the regulars hang out.
Had the kebab while I was there. Maybe I was a little tipsy, but it was awesome (great bar food, IMO!).
Great place--can't wait to go back!

Western Montana and South Bay meet. Very fun atmosphere. IPA festival is super. Good selection of ipas. Southern California is well represented. Cool music and good place to get away. I would bring myself here again and/ or family. Relaxing and low pressure.

Right on the water and classic rock cover bands rock out when it's sunny on the weekends - so pretty much every weekend.
Great draft selection that is ever-changing. The owners are passionate about what beer they are able to get their hands on. Ask them about something they don't have access to and you can tell they're pissed about it. Don't mention Alpine Beer Co.
They've got pretty solid bar food that showcases a variety of fine, fried items. The real winner is the pita plate. Chicken with muschrooms, onions, jalapenos, lettuce, pitas, and hummus. Unreal and pairs really well with an IPA.

This place definitely falls under dives in a great way. This is not your trendy craft bar with stuck up self proclaimed "beer connoisseurs" talking out of their ass about terroir. Its directly next to the docks which adds a nice atmosphere. Has a kinda scummy sea-ness to it. Although i'm not sure how to describe that better, I mean it in a good way haha.
They have an amazing amount of beers on rotating tap. I've never seen less than 50 different ones available (they also have bottles of course). The aspect I like is that they have more than the regular found everywhere craft beers. Recently I was there and they had a 2009 double dead guy on tap woop woop! You will hear of events being hosted here as well. None are expensive and all are well worth it. Keep an eye out for their announcements when we get to LA beer week. Service wise it is beautiful, never have to wait more than a minute. Its very impressive. As well as being staffed by what seems like only beer geeks. That makes it a great place for you rookies out there. Don't be shy to ask and learn!
As far as their food I never tried it. Always seem to have just eaten before i go there. It seems like your regular bar food. No frills, nothing fancy, just some hearty looking bar food. Great spot
