Pours a clear, golden yellow until the sediment clouds the beer with a medium head that doesn't last too long. Gives of orange, lemon, and wheat in the nose. Orange and lemon wheat with a slightly watery finish near the end of the beer. A good beer, make sure it is chilled to the proper temperature to really enjoy.

A - Served on tap into an Ayinger half liter weizen glass. The beer is a hazy straw color with a clean, white foamy head. Vigorous carbonation helps maintain the head throughout. Minor, spotty lacing on the glass.

S - Great aroma here. Yeast character dominates, supplemented with lemongrass.

T - Light but clear flavors follow the nose. Lemongrass was the major flavor for me.

M - Medium-light bodied. The carbonation is quite present here and leaves a thrill on the tongue. Finishes clean and quite refreshing.

O - Wonderful German Weizen. This style went from an afterthought to one of my three favorites in the past year, and beers like this one are the reason.

16.9 oz. bottle poured into wheat beer glass

L: so murky it looks like pineapple juice ... it's a light enough color of yellow that you can pick up shapes when trying to look through it up to the light, but it's otherwise opaque; huge fluffy white head that dissipates pretty fast and doesn't leave much behind -- little sticking and no lace, but it keeps a cool-looking skin of white foam on top with a thick, fluffy collar

S: sweet banana ... you don't even have to put your nose up to it -- the aroma flies up to you, like an air-freshener; lemonade, sour grapes ... and then there's that spice. it's like chai tea, and i'm assuming it's the clove note. very sweet and sour

T: follows the nose mostly but might taste a little more spice (clove? pepper, earth) than sweet ... all the notes are similar, and the chai tea is there -- again, cloves. very easy to see why banana is the classic descriptor because it's the easiest coverall term for this mix. fruity, too, but it's not English pale ale or Belgian dubbel "fruity" ... lighter and more sour

F: feels a tad soft -- the first third popped with carbonation, like a good Belgian, but halfway in it's starting to feel slightly under-carbonated. it's still very, very good ... another swallow suggests I'm being picky: this is super drinkable.

O: the wheat-beer notes are growing on me, and this is classic everything wheat -- look, smell, taste. it's full of flavor but still light and easy to deal with ... the 5.1% ABV fits the package perfectly.

i'm a novice to the style, but this seems as spot on as it gets.

Nice taste and smells of banana, clove, subtle spices, and malts. Light but packed with flavor. Medium body and a beautiful full head. Cloudy color. Does everything right and doesn't get tiresome. Great with food or just hanging out. A great beer anytime of year.

Poured from a 500 mL bottle into a weizen glass and another into a pub glass (head retention is much better in the pub glass).
Appearance - pours a cloudy blonde, almost banana peel yellow; a whirlwind of swirling carbonation forms an almost whip cream, white head! Lacing is fantastic in the pub glass!
Smell - lemon and orange zest, sweet banana bread, coriander.
Taste - very tasty and refreshing, the citrus nose is followed up with each sip.
Feel - some citrus sweetness, nice carbonation, light body.
Overall - I could kick back with a few of these, it's so good; however, I prefer something with a bit more character.

Bomber poured into a Weiss bier glass

Frothy white cap, no lacings. Clear golden yellow with a steady steam of bubbles.

Aroma of bananas, spice, pepper.

Clean, crisp hefewiesse with the classic taste of banana yeast

Carbonation on the front of the tongue and then the more on the finish

Clean, crisp, fresh and delicious hefewiesse , a great summertime beer.

A- big big frothy ivory white head. Lasts and lasts. Not much lacing. Cloudy straw tinted yellow.

S- banana!!! Sugary scented wheat and barley. Clove. I loved the smell of this. It reminded me of the smells associated when visiting a brewery.

T- spicy, crisp, banana, slight citrus.

M- light, smooth, great balance.

O- a very good beer. I consider Schneider Weisse hefeweizen to be the gold standard. This doesn't measure up, in my opinion, but it is a very solid beer. Nobody does it better than the Germans.

Cheers!

Poured from a bottle into an Erdinger weissbier glass. The pour is slightly cloudy with a straw-like color. It sports a mammoth creamy white head that retains quite well and leaves some nice clumpy lacing. I can see some bubbles streaming up from the bottom of the glass, but it's difficult because the beer is so cloudy. The nose has lots of spicy phenols and some fruity esters. I get clove, white pepper, bartlet pears, and a hint of vanilla.

Light-medium body with a crisp, slightly tart flavor and nice firm feel. The flavor seems to favor drier, tarter flavors than the sweet fruity flavors of some beers of this style. There are flavors of crackers, cereal-like notes, tart apple and lemon flavors, as well as some soft wheat. A nice hop addition at mid-palate adds peppery notes and dries out the flavor. The dryness lingers on the finish, which is very refreshing.

Overall an outstanding hefeweizen. The flavor is a bit on the mild side compared to Weihenstephaner's, but this interpretation of the style would appeal to fans of drier beers. The sweetness and fruit notes are toned down and the peppery hops and tart wheat flavors are turned up. It's a wonderful treat on a sunny spring day.
