This beer was first brewed in 1978 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of our brewery. It has a golden-yellow color with a slightly flowery yeast, honey-ish aroma, tastes a little spicy and is full-bodied in initial taste, mild before swallowing and soft with a refined sparkle and fades with a well-balanced hint of bitterness. It is an especially drinkable and harmonious beer. Conrad Seidl, known as the Austrian “Pope of Beers”, on the Jahrhundert Bier: “It is a malty beer that pronounces the precious earthy quality of malted barley.”

Working our way through the Ayinger line. This lager is a simple, but very well crafted beer. Clear, pale straw color with a solid but fading head. Nice beer aroma, lighter taste, would be good with food.

A very fun style that isn't given much consideration. My first from Germany.
Pours cloudy pale gold with quickly dissipating head and good carbonation. Nose is very rich bread yeast, low-moderate spice, and flowery hops. Taste is similar with fair bitterness and a very small estery note. Key word is balance, not just between malt and hops but yeasty aspects as well. Feels stronger than it is, I would've guessed 6%.
Loses a bit on feel, like most malty german beers, it gets sticky after a while. Not enough to dissuade me, but damn I wish these things weren't so syrupy.
Overall a very good German brew, kinda between a pilsner, a maibock, and a helles.

This lager is excellent. Pours light gold with a foamy white head. Not a ton of lacing. Crystal clear. Aroma is floral with very light hints of mint/anise. Taste is just delicious. Think this deserves higher than an 88.

A very good beer. A bit more sweetness and body than in Ayinger Helles. A sweeter aftertaste. A bit stronger. If I had to go with smth more complex than helles, would pick Kelllerbier.

From Carwyn Cellars in October 2022. Drunk in March 2023.
L: Lemony light yellow with a big fluffy, bright-white head that lasted long into the glass. BIg-bubbled carbonation runs rampant up the glass.
S: Clean, bready malts with a slight floral hope note.
T: Such a smooth drinker! The taste is slightly sweet with a moderate floral hop bite. There's also a touch of lemon. The finish is dry and demands further sips.
M: There's a bit of prickle on the swallow but mouthfeel is moderately full and smooth.
O: An excellent beer that drinks smoothly and would have me going back for more if the chance arose.
Cheers!

Like I said in a different review of a beer from Ayinger, I love that they’re putting this information on labels. Very rare to have this type of transparency from a German brewery, although I’ve noticed label “best by” dates are a very common practice here. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s required by law. Anyway…
This followed a bottle of their Lager Hell and you get some of that beer in this one. Aroma and flavor are a bit richer and spicier. Malt is a bit sweeter. Truly a delicious beer. Would love to try it fresher or directly from their brewpub/restaurant.

Clear, light yellow golden, thick white head. Mild grainy aroma, a touch toasty, a little grassy and floral. Similar flavor - clean and crisp. Thin to medium bodied.

I had this on draft 1/12/23 @ the Beer Temple.
Cloudy dull yellow/orange appearance.
Small, bright white head; minimal lace.
Fresh wheat bread, dandelion & faint honey notes in the nose.
Medium thick mouthfeel.
Honeyed wheat bread, mild dandelion & faint oak flavors.
Earthy as fuck, substantial & quite tasty. I'd have another!

Like a bed at your local Holiday Inn, this one does the trick. That said, just like when I’m in that average mattress, I won't be having any dreams about Barbara Palvin. It's just an ok beer - definitely not ‘Tempur-pedic’ status. You just accept it for what it is and love on.

Look: 1 finger head, poured in a pint glass.
Smell: Extremely basic. Nothing else.
Taste: Honestly, I taste almost nothing. Maybe I'm drinking this wrong.
Feel: Water
Overall: It's not bad, just very average.
