A: Hazy to cloudy, brown-amber, with a towering off-white head; lingers OK, minimal lacing.
S: Fruity, with aromas of lemongrass & white pepper, and faint hints of clove and banana.
T: Wheat is center stage at first; but it yields to a melange of tart jam, cooked green-pepper, faint banana and bubblegum; and finally, a mild and slightly-bitter, but mostly citrus, hops finish.
M: Nicely carbonated. Moist and refreshing as it washes over the tongue, but dry enough to make you want more in the finish.
O: A very enjoyable Bavarian Dunkelweizen. The first time I had this was with a plate of Jaegerschnitzel at a local German restaurant, and it married perfectly with its native cuisine. I bought a bottle to try at home for this review, and was not disappointed.

Cellar temperature in a weizen glass.
A nice white, two-finger cloud of a head settles over a somewhat murky, fairly light reddish brown dunkel with carbonation streams rising upward.
It has a wonderful aroma of sweet, yeasty bread dough, caramel, raisins, vanilla, banana, and just a light touch of clove and perhaps some other spices.
The flavor is both sweet and tart, reminding me of banana bread and candied apples. The finish is a bit nutty and has the anticipated soothing breadiness German wheat beers traditionally have. There may be a little bit of clove, nutmeg, and cinnamon lingering on my palate. This isn't too unlike spiced fruitcake in flavor... or fruitBREAD.
Body is medium, carbonation high... but not too high.
