Appearance- poured into a weizen glass. Cloudy copper in color with a 2 finger white head. Great head retention, stayed constant the whole way down.

Smell- Bananas, clove, some bready malt.

Taste- Your typical banana and clove flavor profile, a bit toned down by the darker malts in this one (which I personally prefer). A hint of caramel. A touch of citrus hops as well.

Mouthfeel- Medium body, fairly high carbonation.

Overall- Solid Dunkelweizen, for the price you can not go wrong with this one.

Pours a hazy amber color with a huge, foamy white head. The head settles and leaves behind a nice lace. Fruity aroma with banana and citrus upfront. Scents of wheat bread and spicy clove lie in the backround. Flavor begins fruity with banana and tart apple. The malt then says its part with soft wheat and light caramel notes. Spicy cloves balance and round out the beer. Medium bodied, crisp and smooth. Highly quaffable and not as sticky on the tounge as other hefes. Very nice dunkel.

Pours a hazy light brown with a cream colored head that lasts, leaves some lace but mostly follows the head down.

Aroma is wheat malt with some caramel mixed in, get some light nuttiness from somewhere, mixed with dried fruit and light lemon hints that mingle with clove.
Taste is the same wheat mixed with caramel and fruit, nice and spicey in finish clove mixed with some lemon and hops peaking thru, with spice lasting thru out the finish.

Mouthfeel is right about medium, nice feeling dunkel. Drinkability is good a nice example of the style.

Poured from a 500ml bottle into a weizen glass.

A: The beer is a deep golden brown color with a short off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is of heavy with wheat, yeast and banana along with some caramelized malt.

T: Flavors of banana and citrus jump out at first and are quickly followed by the breadiness of wheat and yeast. The malt character is hearty but still on the light side. There are touches of hops and smokiness and there’s a good balance. The after-taste is slightly bready.

M: Crisp and very smooth, light-to-medium body, medium-to-heavy carbonation, clean finish.

D: Tasty, goes down easily, not very filling, very good representation of style, it’s certainly worth drinking a few of if you’re in the mood for the style. This one is just another quality German brew.

Poured into a German glass that says "Dunkel" on it - thought it apppropriate...
Poured cloudy orange with a thin, but steady and well-retained head.
The smell was a bit on the thin side - but, what was there was clean and inviting - banana/clove and citrus - more orange than lemon.
The taste was light and refreshing. Malty - no hop presence - fitting for style. The banana/clove and citrus held up throughout, though the citrus, esp. orange, though some lemon as well, took over a bit, especially in the mouthfeel. It left a bit of a tang - not a bad thing though. Overall, very clean feeling was left. It was about as complex as this style gets - a good beer all around - will certainly keep it in my summer beer cycle. Another good brew from an outstanding brewery!

A: Pours a cloudy copper color with a two finger thick creamy off-white head. The head reduces by about 25% but has great retention. There is significant lacing observed.

S: Lots of banana + clove in the nose of this beer with some much lighter hints of wheat and sweet malts.

T: This beer starts out a little sweet with some caramel notes to the malts and wheat, followed by the flavors of banana + clove, and finishes with a hint of toastiness and bitterness. Very nice complexity and balance to the flavors.

M: Medium bodied with moderate to high amounts of carbonation. Slightly prickly on the tongue like a champagne.

O: Very easy to drink and very refreshing, definitely a session beer that makes me want to sit outside on the beautiful spring day that it is today and have several of these - though it would be much better in a beer garden in Bavaria.
