Had this awesome beer many times, but just getting around to reviewing it.

A brown brew with a billowy tan head that peaks above the rim and dies quickly with little evidence of it's existence.

Aroma is rich with prominent notes of banana, clove and beer bread.

Mostly creamy with prolific notes of spice and banana along with some grass and tangerine in the end.

Something about a great Hefe in the winter seems so transgressive and perfect.

500 ml bottle was poured into a hefeweizen glass.

Appearance: A one finger head was poured that reduced to a thin layer. It is a hazy yellow brown color with slight vision of bubbles coming up through the glass.

Smell: Bananas, cloves, hefe yeast, wheat, sweetness.

Taste: Grainy banana bread with slight bitterness and twang in the rear. Very tasty.

Mouthfeel: Chewy, refreshing, medium bodied, filling, tasty,

Overall: Leave it up to the Germans to make a solid dunkelweizen. They seem to do it the best. Another solid brew from this brewery.

Poured from a 500 mL bottle.

Dark amber / light brown in color with a large, pillowy off-white head.  Great aroma of banana, cloves, and ripe fruits.  Sweet flavor with the yeast very prominent, but in great balance with the malt and hops.  Medium-bodied with a great mix of fruit and spice.  Rich and refreshing.

I had this side by side with Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier Dunkel and preferred the Ayinger, which is saying a lot.  A top representation of the style for sure.
