Presentation: 17 oz euro brown bottle with no freshness date.

Appearance: Clear pale gold with a huge frothy head that reduces to a semi-patched thin lace.

Smell: Floral aroma, with a lager like sulfur note producing a deep spiciness.

Taste: Wow! One can only wonder at the complexity of this beer. Several malts blend together, creating a velvety sweet coating over the tongue. A pronounced alcoholic feel melds with a potpourri of hop flavour. Clean finish.

Notes: This is truly one of the finest. Worth the extra money if you can find it.

This beer was a clear, yellow brew with a low head. Less than one finger.

Aroma was weak... faint hops, a little bit of malt, a little sweet. I thought it should be more... maybe I had it too cold.

Taste was of mellow light and medium malts, a hint of caramel. A faint touch of hops came in at the end.

Mouthfeel was smooth and airy... unusual, to say the least. But it went down well. I could drink several of these without a problem.

a- very cloudy golden tone w. a thin head that quickly dissipated

s- nice spice notes over the top, but it was served w. a lemon in it, so that overpowered the beer- i am not a fan of this in general, but it was a nice combo

t- malty and spicy in a very complex way- orange peel? Definite hop flavor- better than expected because I am not generally a fan of this style.

m- very nice level of carbonation, not as thin as expected- very nice

d- refreshing and smooth, and I liked it w. the lemon- i will look for this beer again. cheap price too! $5 for 22oz @ comet cafe in MIL.

A- Bought a 16oz. growler pour of this and it was extremely foamy at the tap but not at all a couple of hours later at home when poured into an IPA glass. What little head there was quickly disappeared and left a crystal clear golden ale with no visible effervescence behind.

S- Definitely sweet fruit present on the nose, not an overly powerful smell but it's there.

T- Once I settled into the idea that this isn't a style that I have much (barely any) experience with, I could begin to enjoy it for what it is. It's a complex on the palate ale that is well balanced, crisp in its own way, and easy to drink.

M- I would call this smooth with just enough acidity and life to create some interest.

O- I was happy to stretch my palate from my recent run of IPA, DIPA, and imperial stout. I would like to try this in a bottle to see if my pour took some of the life out of it, although most reviewers seem to mention a rapidly disappearing head. When your mind puts it into the context of a "spring" ale, you could see it as a nice awakening from a winter filled with darker and stronger beer and a nice complement to the fresh dishes of the spring season.

A little limp and light for a maibock. Dark fruit flavors and malt is their, however, watery and unsubstantive, warmth apparent throughout the brew enjoyment, I expected more from an Ayinger beer. No head, average Brussels lace, nice clear and dark amber.

I had this beer on-tap in a pint glass at Special Brews in Lynnwood, WA.

Appearance: nice golden hue with a hint of haze and a moderate effervescence. Head is a finger of frothy foam with limited retention but a nice lace on the glass. Not bad.

Smell: pretty light aroma, although there's a bit of sweetness here that is appropriate to the style.

Taste: nicely malty with a pretty heavy sweetness and a lightly fruity character. There's also a bit of graininess here; it's definitely springy, like a Maibock should be.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a well-integrated carbonation which yields a surprisingly creamy texture. I quite like it.

Overall: a decent Maibock. It ticks all the boxes of a genuine Maibock, although it may be a tad sweet for my taste.

Astonishing. Incredibly gorgeous to look at, with a wonderful solid-gold medium body and rich-looking cream-colored head. The aroma is incredible, I can't begin to describe it, full of malt and acidic fruit flavors; and the flavor is almost too much on top of that. Perhaps too quick a finish, but a world-class beer from a world-class brewery nonetheless.
