I was hoping this one would be fantastic but I am finding that it is tasting a little off to me. I know it's a fresh bottle that's been out of light and refrigerated so there's no faults there.
Appearance looks ok, it's a distinct cloudy orange but the head has receded to nothing.
Smells of caramel malts with some slight floral hops. A bit of clove and orange zest comes through.
Tastes of cloves, orange, a touch of floral notes from the hops and some caramel malts. It's not bad but just seems a bit weak in the middle. I do like the caramel malty flavor and it does make for a change from most Oktoberfests I've been tasting, but I'm not slamming tons of these I'm only sipping one. And the flavor just doesn't hold up for me.
Overall, It's a good Oktoberfest, but I am comparing it to all other German Oktoberfests. And it's just not my favorite.
