October 21, 2014

16.9 oz bottle, weizen glass

A – Pure gold, with just a touch of amber highlights. Bubbly white head, about an inch, tons of bubbles rising to the top long after the pour. This beer LOOKS like the month of October.

S – Warm, slightly browned bread, fresh from a stone oven. Light toffee. Some notes of citrus in the background, but very clean.

T – Again, warm, fresh bread, a touch of caramel and light lemon, perhaps orange. A very clean profile, nothing hiding in the background. It is what it is.

M – Juicy, malty, some very mild bitterness makes itself known, but not in excess. Moderately dry finish, though there is some slight residual sweetness in the aftertaste.

O – A very good, flavorful, refreshing beer, made for drinking a lot of it outdoors on a cool, sunny autumn day. No flash, just substance. Can’t go wrong.

A 16.9 ounce Euro bomber poured into a dimpled beer mug.

Appearance - A hazy orange color. A big, off-white head. Great lacing. A very good looking beer.

Smell - Big, fruity nose. Honeydew melon.

Taste - The big fruit juice flavor is front and center. The beer has a malty, biscuit flavored backbone. The mild, dry hops becomes apparent on the backend.

Mouth - Fizzy. Sweet. Bold.

Overall - This is a big, wonderful beer that is greater than the sum of its parts. The sweet, bold malt is complemented by the mild, dry hops. Delicious!
