Reviewed from notes.

Pours out a very clear golden orange color with another fizzy flash head that leaves no lacing. Sigh... that's the problem with import bottles sometimes. Medium-light body texture and light carbonation.

Smells and tastes like a toasted whole wheat bagel, with medium levels of pecan, hazelnuts, and light fruity apple esters floating around in the background. Earthy and herbal hopping garnishes appear along with a touch of chamomile tea as the glass warms up. Very clean flavor profile overall.

Beautiful orange/amber color, crystal clear, good white head and pretty good lacing.

Malty like an Octoberfest should be. Plenty of caramel malts and honey. Nuts and bread. Flavor and aroma are in sync. Hops are limited and not especially notable.

Body is light and slightly slick, toasty finish.

A nice Octoberfest. Quite drinkable. I found this one in a 16oz single but I'd certainly buy a sixer of it.

Poured from a bottle into a standard pint glass. Orange colored wih a thin head that fades part way through. Looks artificial.

Smells warm as though I were smelling the spices themselves. Yet it's subtle. Not bad.

Tastes okay. A little thin up front with a bit of flavor part way through. Some spices in the finish, but that's it. Not bad, it a very average Oktoberfest.

Beer was a little too thin, and the flavors disappear quickly. Not much body. Not a great beer mouthfeel-wise.

Overall, you could do a lot worse for Oktoberfest, but you could also do a lot better.

500ml German Style Bottle - gotta Love 'em!

App: A luscious strawberry blond color: strong amber with hints of red in the light. 4/5

Smell: Standard euro lager aroma with a light presence of grain and mineral hops. 2/5

Taste: Clean grainy malt with subtle bit firm caramel profile that shows itself in the munich malt mouthfeel. Slightly minty hops add a balancing bitterness that unfortunately fades as it warms. Ends with a fleeting herbal hop flavor.

Mouthfeel: Almost feels like the caramel flavor and color is added through sugar. Cloying stickiness throughout.

The Germans make this type of beer to appeal to the American market. I've found German amber fest beers to be lacking. They truly shine with their blond fest biers (see Hofbrau and Traunstein)

500ml bottle, been trying to move through some German beers lately so I can educate myself. nice orange-amber color, good foamy head. Smells like lager, eh. Flavor is just a real lager, grain, type of event. Shit was good but nothing stellar. I could probably knock back a couple liter of this and pass out on a picnic table. Nein!
