50cl bottle poured into Spaten seidel
BBE May 2012
A- 3 finger rocky white head sitting atop a cloudy unfiltered burnt orange body. Lacing and head retention average to poor.
S- Toasted and toffee malts dominating, hint of peppery hop
T- Lots of malt upfront, changing from toasted to biscuity/toffee. This fades out to a semi dry kellerbier like finish with a hint of peppery hop lingering.
M- Medium carbonation, a bit thin/watery on the tongue.
D- A nice dose of malty goodness with the refreshing drier finish typical more of a kellerbier. Overall it was just too thin on the tongue and faded too fast. A great combination of flavours just lacking the mouthfeel backbone/finish.

Pours a hazy amber color with a medium top of white head that dissolves slowly.
Aroma is caramel, grass, bread, grains, slight citrus and herbal hops.
The taste is sweet with malty and bready notes in the background. It then goes to more grassy notes allong with some herbal hoppy bitterness in the finish.
Mouthfeel is creamy and smooth.
A really delicious märzen. Enjoyable to the fullest.

Been on the hunt for this beer for a while now and happy to see it in the Ayinger Getrankemarkt inside their brewery. Bottled 25.09.23 with the back label stating "naturtrübes Märzenbier." Pours an absolutely gorgeous cloudy amber-brown. Has all the great qualities of their Festmarzen but kicked up a notch when they left the yeast in it. Fruitier, smoother, a bit sweeter, and even a bit funkier. I don't understand the relatively low score for this beer. I don't think it's exported so I doubt there is bad beer making it to the U.S. This wasn't just as good as I was hoping...it's better than that. Really wish I bought more than one 0,5l bottle (for only €0,98!) because I can't stop taking huge gulps of this luscious liquid. It's so unique...I don't know of many other unfiltered Marzens. It really is a joy to drink. Such rich, full flavors with a full yet refreshing body/feel. I can't get over how good this is. Bravo!

Bright copper with a puffy, pocked off white head; fresh white pan crust, red apple skin and soap on the nose; bread dough, croissant shell, slight caramel, hints of pear and gentle hop flowers + spice; soft, clean, with a long, buzzing, bitter linger.
4x5
So this is a Marzen-style beer, but brewed in September for fresh consumption, as far as I can gather.
It lines up for that pretty well, except it's slightly darker + sweeter, both softer + more bitter, and I'm sensing (or imagining) a gentle orchard fruit ester presence.
And it's clean, well-constructed, German, etc.
Doesn't hold a candle to Oktoberfest-Marzen, and I'm not sure where it fits in the lineup, but lovely all the same.

500 ml bottle, as Ayinger Kirtabier, from Vinmonopolet Kvadrat. ABV is 5.8%. Deep golden to orange colour, slightly hazy. Large white head. Malty and grainy aroma with some slightly sourish notes. The flavour is also malty, with a slight acidity in the background. Moderate herbal hops in the finish.

Look: Opaque amber. One solid finger of head with good retention.
Smell: Bright malt and citrusy hops with a light bubblegum note.
Taste: Biscuity, doughy malt with a slight piney hop bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Full and highly carbonated.
Overall: A perfectly drinkable, sweet marzen.
