Blood orange color when poured. Floaties in the beer. Smells all sorts of fruity. Very raspberry on the tongue. Very sweet, maybe a little grapefruit in there too. Could be nice during the summer, but not sure this is something I will want all the time. Really doesn't strike me as a beer. More of a lambik, or a mixed drink minus the alcohol. Interesting none the less.

Pours a hazy plum colored body with a pink head. Strange looking. Some patchy lace is left on the glass. Aroma of raspberries, not much else. Light bodied with aggressive carbonation. Taste is subtle. The tart raspberries are subdued but certainly present. Some wheat sourness adds a hint of lemon. A decent summer fruity quencher here.

(Served in a Pokal)

A- This beer pours a bright raspberry red color with a pink head of foam that last and last. The body is too hazy to see any carbonation in it. At the very bottom of the glass there are a few very tiny bubbles clinging to the bottom.

S- The aroma is fresh raspberries with a dry finish. There is a very faint note of bitter hops that enhances the raspberry aroma. As it warms there is a very faint earthy note but it is nothing like a "wild" yeast aroma.

T- The initial taste is not nearly as bold on the raspberry as I was expecting. The raspberry flavor is smooth and slightly sweet with a faint tart note. After the raspberry the flavor is very light pale malt with some cooked corn notes. The finish is a faint noble hop with some raspberry tartness. The hops and pale malt flavors hang in my mouth after the finish with a dry light carbonic note.

M- This beer has a light mouthfeel with some fizz in the finish and a very faint astringency in the finish also.

D-The beer starts of nice with big red raspberry aroma and appearance so I was expecting to be blown away with fruit flavor. Instead the raspberry flavor is very balanced with the beer. That would be a good thing if the beer had some better flavor. It tasted a bit like an American Macro Lager with some fresh raspberry syrup added. It started off very exciting but then lost ground quickly.

Poured into a Weizen glass. I first had this beer on tap at the Oaken Barrel. It pours a dark pink/purple color. The beer smells like fresh raspberries.

With an aggressive pour a decent head of about two fingers develops. There is not alot of carbonation. The mouthfeel is watery and this beer retains a fair amount of bitterness which distinguishes it from other raspberry beers that I have tried.

All in all this is my favorite beer of this genre.

This beer was poured into a ½ liter weizen glass at 45° with a slight pinkish and not quite two finger head. Neither the bottle nor label contained any date information. The beer appeared to have a raspberry color during the pour but looked to be slightly amber in the glass. There was no lacing or residual carbonation.

There were aromas of raspberries, wheat, and yeast. The fruit bouquet was fresh and invited the first taste.

The taste was slightly sharp or tart without noticeable carbonation. The raspberry taste was not as lively as I remember from the tap.

There was a prickly sensation on the tongue. The beer was light and quickly left.

This was a quick and refreshing beer with a mixture of dryness and sweetness that left me slightly perplexed but able to probably uncap another.

Pours a funky purple-pink with plenty of sediment. Lightly carbonated, and no lace. Not a great beginning, but keeping an open mind (and open taste buds)...

Nose is raspberry, and a little grains. The fruit is subtle, though, and better than most similar beers I've had.

Flavor is mild, not overbearing or artificial tasting. Tart raspberries up front, with a little yeasty bread somewhere in the mix. Light body, and quite nice on a hot day. Not a bad fruit beer at all.

It's Saturday late afternoon and still cleaning out the fridge of older beer....stumbled upon a Oaken Barrel Brewering Co Razz-Wheat. The color was a cloundy rose color. The bottle was over primed and a huge champaign foam and carbonation. There were floaties!!!! The aromoa was very good....definitely raspberry! The taste was out a fruity spritzer....not much in the sense of beer. The carbonation made it bubbly on the mouth...would tire quickly of this beer due to sweetness.

Presentation: Poured from a 12oz brown bottle into a standard pint glass. The label contains no information about brewing date, but it does mention an original gravity of 12 degrees P. Three, big, plump raspberries are prominently featured on the center of the label.

Appearance: I was surprised, but this poured with absolutely no head whatsoever, looks like a cider. Not sure of how it is made, but I would think their would be enough protein to at least sustain a minimal head. I have had this several times before in the bottle, but never bothered to pour it. The beer itself is a slightly hazy, pink hued tan.

Smell: Wheat tang is on the forefront of the nose. Just a hint of raspberry.

Taste: An initial flavor of raspberries, nice, not too sweet and not too tangy. Followed by the slight sour tang of wheat brews. Little to no bitterness in the finish. Anice carbonation bite helps deliver and round it all out.

Mouthfeel: Average to higher than average carbonation level. Average mouthfeel.

Drinkability: The raspberry flavor gives a nice boost to the wheat tang. Not an everyday drinker for me, but this style can be nice when it is warm outside.

This beer reminds me of my younger days in Berlin. The beer is a vibrant pink with a head that collapsed into oblivion as soon as my girlfriend added some lemon. The beer itself is very refeshing, a suprisingly clean yeast profile, but there is a definate tartness present to balance out the very sweet raspberry flavours.

There really isn't too much to this beer, it is just a well-put together raspberry wheat. When done right, this tastes very good and if you want an example of how to do it right. . . well, Oaken Barrel is a lot closer than Berlin.

hazy amber with a decent head. Smell was over the top fruity. The taste was as well. For some reason I thought this would have been a bit more mellow. Slight hoppiness in the finish, but all I really could get out of this was the fruitiness and the artificial flavor

like the some of their other beers this one just seems too watery and flavorless. i did like the cloudy pink hase though. the head kinda sucked IMO. i think my girl friend would like it, it does taste like a wine cooler. it is somewhat drinkable but i can't imagine what it would taste like without the raspberry flavor, it would probably be the worlds worst wheat.

The beer pours a “Chill Hazed” raspberry color with a modest head that is frothy and off white in color, it evaporates quite quickly leaving a slight sheet of lace. Raspberry and wheat in nose, sweet and fresh, clean with the start sweet and lightly malted, top is thin. Finish is pleasantly acidic, the hops forbearing in their presence, dry and somewhat sweet and sour aftertaste, and a drinkable beer, something for the hot old summertime.

I like this brewery but this beer is terrible! No head to speak of, clowdy, smells like one of those "malternatives" and has a reddish tint. Has a fruity smell to it and a very dominant raspberry taste. I am even wonderring if this is beer!

To protest, I am going to the store to get a Bell's Porter! I won't have this one again!

Hazy, pink bodied beer with a sudsy white head that fades quickly into a thin skim. Smells like faint bready yeast and raspberries. Tastes like a kind of mildly bitter raspberry soda mixed with a light ale. Mouthfeel is light and highly carbonated. Easy enough to drink and inoffensive but not my style, Oaken Barrel makes much better beer.

It was great-until I tasted it! I wouldn't go so far as to say it looks like a V8, but it has what looks like strawberry seeds in it. It smells awesome, but the taste, while not terrible, is not beer like. It's more like wine or cider or something. If they were on Iron Chef they definitely wouldn't be penalized for not having the taste of the secret ingredient, the raspberry flavor is very bold and all encompassing. I would not buy a six pack, but it's not the worst beer I've ever had. Don't get much malt or hop flavor. These guys are close to where I live so I would go try their stuff.

Average aroma of raspberry fruit. Hint of wheat malt was evident. Hazy appearance with tone of pink grapefruit. Raspberry flavor dominated the wheat background. Light mouthfeel with expected drinkability. Not a big fan of fruit beers, but this one wasn't too bad; about average. This would be good on a hot June/July picnic or for your girlfriend.

12 oz bottle. Poured a cloudy pinkish color with no real head, and no lacing to be seen. Aroma is that of raspberries, with some hints of wheat and yeast coming through. Taste is muted raspberries, with some breadiness in the finish. Fairly good carbonation, but as a wheat it is lacking. The only good thing I can say about it is that it doesn't suck! Bland and unfulfilling!

I tried this late one evening and thought it was a decent beer. Very light with a mild taste of berries. Poured into class with a slight purple color. You could really only smell berries. Decent taste, nothing amazing but ok. I was left with a very small about of "powder" at the bottom of my glass (weird?)

While I dont think I would really recommend this beer.. I might if someone really wanted a berry flavored beer. Im sure there is much better than this out there though.

Appearance - pours a hzed magenta, a pale pink head of maybe a finger is short-lived. Not much to the head, though it's still a cool-looking beer. A good layer of sediment clouds up the brew appreciably on the bottom pour.

Aroma - nice raspberry smell, not overly sweet or fruity, just a pleasant and persistent showing.

Taste - light wheat complemented by light raspberry. Basic, flavorful, tasty. Not much else regarding swallow or finish, a fine flavor though.

Mouthfeel - bubbly, a light smooth element; on target.

Drinkability - very nice. A great sessionable for a fruit-type beer.

The beer was poured into a pub glass.

Appearance: The beer pours a hazy pink coloration. The head is white and short lived. There is no lacing present on the glass.

Smell: The beer has a nice malted wheaty smell. The beer also has a sweet perfume like raspberry smell.

Taste: The raspberry taste is a sweet cloying extract. The beer has an as expected wheat beer taste. The raspberry is just to dam sweet.

Mouthfeel/ Drinkability: The beer is light bodied. There is ok carbonation present in the beer. The fruity taste are just to sweet. This is an ok drinking beer.

With the flavor of ripe raspberries at the forefront, Razz-Wheat delivers a full fruity, berrycentric taste with a background support of clean and simplified wheat ale.

Razz pours with a hazy mauve coloring, maybe ruby in hue- giving an appealing glow beyond the protien haze of wheat. A thinly covering of white foam builds upon the beer, but quickly breaks apart leaving behind scattered islands of lace. All this makes this beer a very attractive color, but dull on foam character.

Raspberries lead the way on both flavor and aroma with the taste of fresh raspberry pulp, skin, and seed. Where the richness of the juices give a complementary sweetness to the bready wheat malt, the fruit acidity and tannic properties act well in balance expecially with the low-lying hop character that largely goes unnoticed. Any wheaty complexity beyond the dextrin richeness and hearty bread taste is hard to assess as the beer is focuesd on the raspberry taste.

Lightly textured throughout, Razz starts with a dry and sugary feel that lessens, but never really reaches the semi malty-dry mouthfeel that make wheat beers so characterful and refreshing. Instead, there's an empty malt underpinning and a pronounced tacky feel that seems just as familiar as wine coolers as it does beer. Lightly tannic, dry, and warm in finish, a linger of raspberry and sugar aftertaste persist.

I think that the taste of raspberry is well presented, but the lack of "beer" causes this raspberry wheat ale to taste somewhat soda popish and feel sugary. I like the beer, but because of much different reasons why I like most other beers.

Poured a very lavender/light purple color, with a nice head and decent lacing. From the pour I wondered if they had overused some raspberry syrup/flavoring. The scent backed that up some, as it was dominated by the raspberry flavoring, and there really wasn't much in the way of a nice crisp wheat to mesh with it. I'd try it again if I'm in the mood for a lambic style beer, but not for a fruited wheat.

This has gotten better, and I've really enjoyed the last few that I've had. Much more balanced and even, more "natural" raz flavors. Much better wheat attributes, too, with a nice straw feeling.

Bought a sixer of this expecting something with a little more consistency maybe something like a Lambic. No such luck this beer is watery and awful like someone poured Raspberry Kool-aid into my Coors lite. I'd attempted to drink 3 of these brews from the sixer I bought.

A: Doesn't look that bad.
S: Smell is a little worse that the look, but it isn't that bad.
T: Awful
M: Watery
D: Downright pitiful.

Cloudy pink-amber with no real head to speak of. Aroma makes the beer very intriguing... wheat-like qualities... with a touch of raspberry... but the flavor is very much dominated by tart raspberry. Also a touch of yeast and bread in the finish. As it warmed, the raspberry became less dominant, but it was still too much. Somewhat rough mouthfeel, and thin to medium body. I like this brewery quite a bit... but this is not a beer that I'm very impressed with.

This beer is an alright beer if you like defying Man Law. This beer has a lot of berry smell and taste. On the pour it came out of the tap in a pinkish red beer with a slight white head which went away very quickly.

I would drink this beer again on a hot summer's day low in humindity.
