The beer is light golden, clear with small bubbles, a white head that settles quickly and leaves some lacing.

The smell is aromatic, bread and grain, citric nuances, grass and nettles.

Upfront sweet, biscuits and porridge, lime, green apples and rhubarb, rather generous bitter notes.

Medium low carbonation, medium heavy body yet refreshing, a nice dry finish.

Not being shy on the malts and hops pays off, well balanced as well.

The grassy and citrusy smell comes to the fore. The color is straw drawing towards golden but it doesn't pour with much head. The first taste is sweet and citrusy and the aftertaste is dry and hoppy. It's a bit too carbonated for my taste. From an Oktoberfest perspective I find Kaltenberg pretty thin compared to Weltenburger Kloster and Spaten. Alla and all it's a drinkable beer but don't bother if you are looking specifically for an Oktoberfest experience.

Brewed under license in Sweden by Krönliens Bryggeri.

The colour is deep yellow; the white foam forms a slowly sinking white head, the lacing is thick.

The smell is malty with notes of rye bread and bitter hops (more than I had expected from an Oktoberfest beer). There is a slight burned touch to it.

The taste is malty, but although the malt is the dominating taste, it is very neutral. There are aroma hops brings some grapefruits and maybe some matured Cheddar. Then, a growing bitterness emerges with very dry hoppy notes and some butter notes.

The carbonation is strong and fresh with small bubbles.

An Oktoberfest beer must be very drinkable, but some brewers seem to confuse “drinkable” with “watery”. This one got notable malt, aroma hops and bitterness. Well done!

Having a 1/2 litre at Croxleys in Smithtown NY.

A solid Octoberfest. I truly enjoy the taste. Floral a bit but not overpowering at all. I'm an IPA drinker, but still enjoyed this one very much.

Sitting in the sun, nice breeze. A good beer on a good day.

Had this during Tampa's Oktoberfest festivity in 2011.

A: pour an almost clear golden body, although I could tell that this had a bit more body presence that the previous Marzen I had at the festival (a Warsteiner). Nice fluffy head that dissipated quickly. No lacing.

S: corn grains, bread notes and a bit of hops and citrus as well.

T: follows the nose since you can tell a hoppy character that presents some bitterness along with some herbal and citrus tones.

M: very drinkable, just like a Marzen should be. Light body, balanced carbonation.

O: this is a pretty good Marzen that is well suited for those looking to drink and celebrate a lot. It has a very fresh character and goes down extremely well.

A: Clear golden pour. Medium large white airy head leaves nice lacings.

S: Rich pure malt, some sweetness and some bitter hops.

T: Bready somewhat sweet malt. A nice mix between bitter and floral hops in the background.

M: Aftertaste is nicely malty, semi-bitter lingering. Body is medium and carbonation is rich but not offensive.

D: A nice refreshing Oktoberfest.
