This beer poured out as a nice looking hazy yellow color. The head what fluffy and white. The lacing wasn't too bad. The smell of the beer was mostly of banana, yeast, and some clove. The flavor was smooth and bready. The mouthfeel was also smooth and refreshing. Overall it's not a bad hefeweizen and worth trying.

Sampled at the Odds and Ends Tasting II on 10/19/07: This brew is a hazy yellowish color with a medium and foamy white head that diminshes slowly. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of yeast, clove and fruit. Light-bodied with sweet grainy malt and honey flavors offset by mild spices and hops. The finish is yeasty with a light spice finish. Above average overall.

The 50 cl brown bottle is long-necked. The label is Yellow with a coat of arms; I'm guessing a royal one from somewhere in Bavaria. Looks pretty nice.
A: The pour is murky pale orange with an enormous creamy white head that slowly dissipates.
S: A bit faint smell. There is wheat, ripe bananas and citric notes (mostly oranges).
T: There is some yeast up front but soon it settles and then there is nice wheat and sweet ripe bananas. Nicely balanced. A faint spicyness is noticable as well.
M: The aftertaste is rather short and holds a dryness. The body is light to medium and the carbonation is rich with lots and lots of small bubbles.
D: The taste is nice and it really quenches ones thirst - just like a Hefeweizen should.

Oranged-yellow-cloudy in appearance. White foam, quite creamy, decent.
The smell is grainy, of cereals. Very very light vanilla, lemon more decided. Maybe sweet apricot. Light spiced, and light banana.
At the taste the banana is a little more present, but in the background again. There are again the lemon and citron, and again, before all, the predominant grain.
Light body, lemon in the aftertaste. Nothing remarkable, an honest weissbier.

Pint at the Abbot on the Hill. Cloudy burnished gold under a frothy white head. Pretty typical, pretty wheat beer appearance. Typical wheat beer aroma of banana and clove also. Aroma is carried through into the taste. Nicely balanced and refreshing. One to have again.

Pretty lame for a German Weiss. Ever so slightly hazy pale gold appearance. Aroma of nothing much, but for some reason i could smell peanut butter. Peanut butter also came through on the palate, with some slight lemon zest, tiny tiny bit of banana and clove, really lame and thin, Weihenstephaner Kristall had a lot more flavour, and body.

Beer had a hazy light golden color with a good head and good carbonation. It had a nice fresh grain aroma. The taste was refreshing with a crisp slightly bitter finish. The feel was light but seemed balanced. This was an enjoyable beer. Not really a fan of Wheat beers but a nice change from all the pilsners.

Cloudy golden body is topped by an excellent white creamy head. The head lingers, but Im a slow drinker, so it eventually fades. The aroma is strong, more cloves than some, but the banana is there. The flavor is a bit more dry than some, and more herbally and the finish is a little more bitter than most. Still, somethings lacking from the body of the flavor that keeps it from being one of the better hefeweizens.

Had this in a bottle as Konig Ludwig Weissbier. Poured to a hazy lemon-yellow with a tint of orange, and a nice medium head that lingered long and left good lacing. Nose was a very pleasant and strong mix of ornages, cookie dough and clove, and the mouthfeel full and tingly. Flavor was a mild hop, again predominantly cookie dough, clove and orange, with just a hint of bubblegum at mid-glass.
A very pleasant and tasty beer with a long satisfying finish. Perfect for a hot summer day.

Reviewed 7/10/2008 (bottle 26Nov2008):
Pours a cloudy very very pale yellow colored body, with a creamish head, average sized, and lasting. Fresh bananay aroma, cloves, effervescent-ish. Not too strong an aroma. Has a banana taste, some cloves too, somewhat flowery. Fizzy.

appear: opaque gold/banana color, white 5 cm head w/ amazing retention. Beautiful down to the very bottom.
aroma: tangerine and cream aroma, very spicy.
taste: spicy banana cake. Sweet, low bitterness. Light aftertaste.
mouthfeel : light and aggressively carbonated, I am tempted to give an even lowever mouthfeel than this, but I enjoyed drinking this beer, the rest of the attributes make up for it. (is that cricket?)

I had this in bottle several times on German trains. I wasn't expecting much but I was delightfully surprised.
It poured a nice amber with a huuuuge firm foamy frothy yellowish head, that was great tasting in itself. I nearly had to ask for a spoon. The head just stayed and stayed.
The taste was just superb-- enough hops & bitters to give it a good effect but not overwhelming. A lot of rich taste that were complex and bold, yet nothing obtrusive or out of balance.
Somewhere I have notes that I took on this beer as I was drinking it, which probably have even more specifics. I'll update this review when I unpack them.
I loved this beer enough to bribe the train snackbar-tender to give me both the bottle and the nice large glass!

Lemony yellow in color with a two finger thick white head. Yeasty and spicey smelling. It is very yeasty flavor wise with the typical wheat beer mouthfeel, but I didnt pick up on any banana flavors though there was plenty of spicey notes. The aftertaste is abrupt in the fact that there hardly is any. All the flavor is front loaded then it just ends so that fore and middle is all you get. Slightly watery due to that abrupt finish, but still very drinkable and enjoyable.

This brew poured a medium white head that did not last very long. It was yellow in body. This particular brew had a cloudy appearance to it. It had a fruity aroma to it in my opinion. There was not much in the way of flavor with this brew which disappointed me as I really like German Wheat beers. This one was lacking character.

Foamy white head, beautiful golden orange opaque color. The smell is nicely wheaty, fruity (oranges and lemon), yeasty. The taste is of wheat and yeast; the banana thing is kind of weak, it's more about oranges and lemon here. Nicely sweet. The body is light and highly carbonated. Mouthfeel maybe a bit watery. Drinkable.

This brew poured a medium white head of fine white bubbles that was mostly lasting and a cloudy straw yellow body with a malty aroma. Its flavor was that of a yeasty banana wheat. All-in-all an average beer that is typical of the style and one that I probably would not go out of my way to buy again.

(Review stolen from Marsiblursi because I agree with it perfectly) Pours hazy yellow golden with a creamy head. The aroma is of doughy white bread, lots of banana esters, light clove, light pepper, wheat and flowers. The flavour is light sweet and light bitter with a fantastic crisp and full carbonation. Tones of wheat, dough, light grass/flowers, light clove, light banana. The mouthfeel is round and smooth. Tiny acidic and dry finish. Medium bodied.

The beer pours a real cloudy light golden base, huge mammouth white fluffy head that needed three pours to get into the Weizen glass, excellent beer retention the whole hour and a few specs of lacing. The smell is a touch of wheat, grain, and malt.
The taste is light on wheat, lighter on the grain and malt. Refreshing aftertaste with a grainy feel. Pure smoothness in the mouth, the head retention was awesome and gave the beer a great start every time, never once it was heavy in the mouth. This is a great session beer, but I would prefer a handful of other Weizens with better taste than this one.
Final Thought: This beer is so great on the palette, but lacks in pure wheaty Weizen taste, still a solid brew from a solid brewhaus.
