Late 05 release, refrigerated. No label info, and no internet nearby, so Im shooting in the dark here. Looks a bit like a stout; good deal of ruby on the edges makes me think maybe not. Poofy foam cap.
Nose strikes me instantly familiar; Im thinking dark lager ala SA Winter. Toasty-grain here, mild and woody English hops reinforce this notion. Appears to be spiced.
Goes down the beer-hole as a halfway point between OSA and SA Winter. Which is a compliment of interpolation but not necessarily creativity. Seems increasingly English with consecutive gulps.
Creaminess is good, soda-ishness not so much. Not obtrusive. For a winters night by the fire, yes. Otherwise, no.
