Decided that I should try this brew before it disappears as we are hedging towards spring, though it has been snowing for the past three days. This brew poured to a nice deep brown color with some red/ruby highlights. Smaller sized head, light tan, did have pretty good retention and lacing. The aroma here comes across nice as chocolate and roasted malt notes come across. Maybe some cinnamon but that is the extent of the spices that I picked up. The flavor is a disappointment for me as it just seems to be very empty. Sweetness, caramel with a light touch of chocolate but that seems to be about it. Overall I think this one misses the mark, just does not seem to be anything special for a winter brew and the emptiness in the flavor just really brings it down. Will pass up on this one in the future.
